Vitnage Silver Highlight - Continental Coin 1981 US Assay Office Type 1

Collection Highlights -
This one is a great piece of vintage silver. I believe this was minted by the Continental coin company or mint. It is a piece of the US stress teacher stockpile of silver that was minted in 1981. I believe this silver was stored in Carson City and it was released back in the 80s by the government and this was purchased and minted from it. It's an average size round that has a pretty sweet design. I have a fair number of these that I picked up a year ago when I ran into a bunch of them and then LCS. The outburst looks pretty good with some nice clean lettering and the reverse has a pretty good picture of an eagle and a flag in the 1980s mandatory silver trade unit.
Continental coin has been in business for a long time and has rebranded itself several times over the years it's current form is primarily a coin jeweler in fine art dealer but it also has a rich history of minting private bars. They are well-known fermenting these us assay office bars after the government sold much of the silver on the open market.

Obverse
I actually usually thought that this side was the reverse. Typically I see the civil trade unit and the eagle motifs to be on the reverse the coin tonight on the adverse. Although the silver around the world website identified this as being the empress. So we will go with the ego flying in front of the flag as being obverse I think it's a pretty good design I like the detail in both the eagle and the flag think it's a decent drawing of both. I think all the detail is high and you can make everything out it's not overly detailed two are things get muddled. I also like the very clean Fields between the center artwork in the outer rim of the words and leaves. Lose a nice clean look to the coin.
Reverse
The reverse is where we get everything stamped under the sun. It's a little busy but it had a lot that they wanted to communicate. They really marketed very heavily but this came from the us strategic stockpile formally stored at the US assay office in San francisco. Please this is struck in 1981. I think they could have left some of this information off the ground and cleaned it up a little for some more I appeal but I might be getting a little bit picky.
I'll have to go through the rest of these rounds and see if I have any gear that's a not a 1981 since they made rounds for several years I'm not sure how far this series goes. I don't think I have any of the bars they minted but will keep my eyes out if I can find a one or 10 oz bar to pick up at a generic price. While they are vintage, I'm not sure they carry it significant premium anymore since I think so many were minted and sold back in the 80s.

And after all this time Silver is still not considered a strategic mineral, but why?
Strange, since so many consider batteries and solar panels strategic and they're made with... silver!
High end electronics too I think. I know they have said how much is used in Mfg and it seems to be consuming the new supply, but the price does not move. !PIZZA
I heard a quote by some YT channels that each Tomahawk missile requires 5 pounds of silver, where did that stat come from? I can't seem to find the source.
I think because they feel there is enough, and can mine enough if needed? Not sure really !PIZZA
Great round. Yep got one
Yeah, I assumed you have this one, they seem to have minted a lot of these and they have floated around to several different shops I have seen.

Lol, well I only really buy vintage stuff in the generic bin. I couldn't get myself to buy buffalo rounds when they were cheap. I needed some variety in my stack. !PIZZA
