Bukidnon escape: The pineapple plantation and papaya farm
It's been almost a year since we had our Bukidnon escape. After reaching out to my friend's aunt's house, we didn't have time to make a trip on that day to different tourist destinations because they had a simple celebration of their cousin's graduation, so we needed to stay home.
After the event, we walked briefly at the pineapple plantation, which is near her cousin's house. As we all know, Bukidnon is known as the pineapple capital of Asia because of the well-known Del Monte Pineapple Plantation in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, Philippines.
Going to the place, I'm so excited because this will be my first time seeing that wide pineapple plantation. And this is one on my bucket list that if ever I visit this place, I won't miss seeing this beautiful pineapple plantation.
Seeing it personally, you will surely be amazed. When we visit the plantation, some of its fruits are ready to harvest, but some also bear smaller ones. As you can see, all of the place around was planted with pineapples. As far as my eyes could see, all of it was planted with pineapples. How amazing it was!
I'm trying to compare the one being planted in our backyard which whose leaves are reddish, while this one is green in color and the size is double that of what we had at home.
When having the photo opportunity of the pineapple plants, I guess I almost have the same size as they planted. They were planted in rows, but they're elevated a little bit. Maybe it was planted that way to refrain from being washed away or carried out during the rainy days. I am stunned by how they cared for it.
Trying to get a closer picture of its fruits, it's also green in color when it's unripe, then turns yellow-green when it's ripe. My friend's cousin told me that some of its fruits will grow to a large size and will gain 3 to 4 kilos per fruit. Shocked to hear about it, but I'm glad I was in the place seeing these.
A lot of people here in Bukidnon were working in the pineapple plantation as their source of income. Some were given the privilege of having their own houses given by the company for those working for so many years. During a harvest, a lot of wing vans were lined up at the stock house to order pineapple at a lower price.
After hearing the news about this wonderful pineapple plantation, we hurriedly went back to their house and visited their small papaya farm at the back of their house.
My friend's cousin was also a farmer, and they were growing papaya plants that bear fruits even if they were of small size.
Together with my friend, we were happily picking ripe papayas with her cousins. I was having a wonderful vacation in this place. Seeing and hearing the wonders of nature makes me happy, and I will go back again to this lovely place.
They were great farmers. A variety of plants were also planted in front. They were also growing eggplants and bitter gourds. It was so magical when you see how people survive to sustain their daily needs.
That's all for today's blog, my dear Hive friends. I hope you had a great time reading and upvoting my blog. What a wonderful day it is.
Have a nice day, everyone 😊
I love pineapple, however, I have never been able to see a pineapple crop in person...I would love to. Thanks for sharing.

I pass this place rarely but I haven’t had time to stop and take some photos. Perhaps, next time I will. I am surprised when I saw in one of your photos that pineappl plants can be taller. I always thought it’s knee high.
Maybe because pineapple plants are planted in an elevated area. I love how these plants were planted. The soils surely could tell that it's being cultivated and well taken care of.
That's a huge land of pineapple plantations wow.
These are really great pictures of pineapples and papayas, plantation and farm make a very good impression, very clean and in middle of nature!
