I’m riding the green car in Tokyo, full VIP 🤷‍♂️ it’s part of a campaign to let people try it for free.

It’s a little nicer but if I had the money to take it regularly I don’t think I would. Maybe on a long trip

What is a green car? I have never heard of this in all my years in Japan.

it’s a double decker car that’s quieter and slightly more comfortable. I guess it’s an extra 1000 yen usually

What are the unique features of the green car? Lemme guess, it has something to do with emissions and climate change.

no no no haha
Green car has more comfortable seats and no standing, only seating. Regular trains have seats against the wall and the middle is all people standing. Green also has electrical outlets and reclining chairs

Interesting. So why "green"? I've been conditioned to think that once "green" is added to any tech, it means ecofriendly blah blah.

no idea! Japan likes to take English words and hit them with hammers until they hardly have any logical connection to English

I rode the green car by mistake once and didn't take them long to show me to the ordinary car!
