this war shit is crazy. These countries leaders are crazy. There are no good sides, the only good side is the innocent people who want nothing to do with it

Yeah, that's always the case. Then again, I can understand why Israel & USA don't want Iran to have the bomb. That kinda power should never be in the hands of fundamentalist nutcases.

If that’s what this was really about it wouldn’t have happened immediately after reports that some of the military started voicing opposition to their orders.

That's what it's all about. Israel wants to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities for good and overthrow Ajatollah Khamenei. They even had a plan to assassinate him but US didn't show the green light. For them, it's an existential threat.

If you believe everything governments and media say that’s exactly what it’s about

No, it's just the most logical argument. What reason would I have to believe otherwise? These things are based on probabilities, pure logic, not in a feeling or in something that we want to be true.

A country having enemies allows their govt to consolidate support among its own people and justifies expansionism. Eliminating all threats is often the stated goal of a country but this is never peaceful, and to truly eliminate threats is to become all powerful, to completely dominate in every sense . Also there is always far too much going on behind the scenes that I would never pretend to know for sure, So my understanding isn’t what I want to be true. Not at all in fact.

Now we're getting close to that conspiracy theory line! 😀 That is just pure speculation. The logical thought here would be Israel not seeking to expand cos they don't even share a border with Iran.

The world is run by conspiracies. Do you know what world leaders talk about behind closed doors? I dont. It doesn’t make any sense to assume that no conspiracies are true, even if many are false. But as I said I won’t assume something is true just because it makes sense. When someone’s actions are consistent, you have to wonder is all, and you might wanna push back on the assumptions people make that everything is exactly as stated in the media.

I observe and make the best guesses I can make, without pretending that I know for sure any of them are true. But guessing is what everyone does, they just tend to think their guesses are fact because someone they trust said so.

People who manage countries or large companies, and who compete, don’t use the same kind of straightforward logic regular people do, if they did, they wouldn’t survive. That is a logically assumption, even if I’m wrong.

I only believe in probabilities and in science and approach any kind of news with similar way like science does. Applying conspiracy theories to everything just doesn't make sense. Is the alternative source more credible? Think about odds.

Where are there reliable sources? I have never seen one

I agree that every source should be questioned, but there are higher chances that the mainstream media is the legit one than the alternative. They don't have an agenda like some American dude spamming from his parents basement.

Mainstream media doesn’t have an agenda? I’m not following the logic there.

The dude in his basement is more likely to imagine connections that aren’t there, yeah, but you can verify a lot of things through mainstream media or direct sources (livestream footage of a protest or first hand accounts from people you know).

I treat all of these as information. And I find the media tends not to make connections that are obvious, and this happens again and again giving us a skewed view of the world in one way or another depending on the political bias of the news source

Ok, I got your point and I think this is more of a cultural thing... I'm from Europe and we don't have that political bias here with our media sources, news & angles are pretty much the same with private owned & gov owned media.

One might consider that the pursuit of harmony and the safeguarding of innocent lives should always remain at the forefront of any deliberation concerning such grave matters.
