The Train Coin from Portugal 🚂

Earlier this morning while I was curating, I came across @bulliontools post about his stacking crush..
This is the coin he'd always wanted in his stack and one that he promised himself he would get.
It was a golden Indian coin - quite a lovely design to be honest.
Regardless that's not the main point of this post, his post made me think about which coin I'd surely add to my stack.
One that I've had stocked, saved and sworn in my memory.

I had none of that yet.
Which is go be expected, considering (if all goes as planned) I'll just start stacking silver this month.
For sure I haven't chosen a coin that'll probably be prices in the 3-4 digits that would be the star of my non-existent stack.
Yet because I hadn't found one yet, meant I had something to do today.

I've always wanted one, always wanted to ride one. I had always seen them on television, walked across rail roads and even saw a train pass up close.

Yet despite my childlike fascination with trains, never have I wanted a silver 2D coin.
Until now...

Portugal 7.50 Euro 2020 Iberoamerica Railway Douro Line Silver Proof

A commemorative silver coin released in Portugal as part of the Ibero-American X1 series.
It's a coin I saw recently but I just fell in love with the depiction on the coin.

Shading and coloring manages to make the drawing feel more realistic and gives a better sense of movement.

Being a commemorative coin, the price isn't something one would easily part with.
About $100 for a 32.5mm diameter coin weighing 13.5 grams and has about 7,000 in mintage.

I do so love the design and I do plan on owning a commemorative coin, although I'm still not sure this is my coin😂✨

Regardless it is a wonderful piece✨
