The Rectangular Dragon

I'm pretty sure that someone has posted this coin once before. I remember seeing it or at least something like it on someone's blog here in the past few months.

Regardless of other people's posting history, I know that this is the first time I'm posting an Australian Dragon Coin.

The Dragon Rectangular Coin from Perth Mint in Australia is a proof and bullion series that started in 2018.
It's giving highlights are the distinct dragon designs on a rectangular frame.

The coin above is the 2025 release which is both a proof coin and a bullion.
It's reverse shows the lovely details dragon scales, the year of mintage and the signature P of the Perth minth.

The obverse in a very minimalistic way shows the bust of King Charles the III, the country of mintage, the denomination and the coins weight and metal.

Before I started writing about this coin, I asked Chat GPT for a list of unique silver coins but now I see that the only unique thing about this coin is it's shape.

It normally releases most years to one coin type but this year is both proofs and billions so that's great.
The proof has a mintage of 3,888 while the bullion minted up to 250,000.

The Bullions are prices at 65 Australian Dollars according to Perth Mint which I guess is a pretty fair choice.

Conversely, banknotes have benn all rectangle so I have yet to see a round banknote in past or present circulation. I could be wrong.
A little Stacking food for thought.
