I've come across numerous anime that have been underrated, overrated and almost everything in between.
Most big titles that are big in name alone and some titles that people haven't heard but their stories are gold.
I've also seen plenty animes which started out great but fell off, plenty times there are no reason, most times its the audience that just moved on.
Yet this I know; Seven Deadly Sins is one anime whose downfall I believe is nothing but sour luck and Netflix animation sabotage.

Plot

Elizabeth Liones, the 3rd Princess of Liones sets out on a quest to search for the Seven Deadly Sins, a group of Powerful Knights who were accused of treason and disbanded.
In her search, she mistakenly walks into Meliodas tavern, not knowing that he was the leader of the order of knights she has been looking for.
Now Meliodas and Elizabeth, set off to search for the other sins and save Liones and Brittania from the grave evil which threatens it.

I've always loved medieval stories. Stories that dabbles between the realm of fictional and historical are special.
Seven Deadly Sins is truly one of my best anime's and it's incredibly ahead in so many areas, here are just a few..

What I Liked

- The Lore

The lore presented in this movie is spectacular, simply spectacular.
The concept of fairy, humans, giants and demons: Four races that have been used and re-used in so many different texts and movies, found a new use in this show.
The story goes indepth, bringing out different themes of interracial love, friendships, betrayal and redemption.

- The World Building

Ofcourse, even when hearing this anime, one doesn't need to know that the world that it resides in is a big and complex one.
The world of Brittania is beautiful and vast, yest simple and minimal.
The medieval look of the castles matched with the fantastical view of the Fairy King Forest all added up to the well worn flames of purgatory.
The three worlds were awe-inspiring.

- The Characters

This show had quite wonderful characters, all of rich developed well during the course of the anime.
I believe this is the major win of the show. The characters were wonderful and relatable, their development well planned and clearly shown, making us appreciate the characters more.

Truly the characters and lore are the stars and selling points of the show.

The Bad Bit

The downfall of this show came when Netflix bought it and they changed studios. Immediately, everything became noticeable that hands have been changed.
The animation was horrible, simply horrible. Blurred faces, robotic movements and horrific effects.
It was a true turn off for numerous fans and viewers as once awesome fights suddenly became barely watchable.

The next season was better of course but the damage had already been done and fans had left the show for others.
I had already left the show, and tagged it as a failure, surviving on hints and spoilers of how it ended and Four Knights Of Apocalypse began.

It's not until recently, when I was curious as why Merlin of the Seven Deadly Sins is now siding with Arthur who's the main antagonist of Four Knights Of Apocalypse, I read up on it and discovered the very depth of the Seven Deadly Sins Story.

At the ending, it is a wonderful show, truly spectacular, one of the greatest -if I do say so myself- of its generation.
It was just spoiled by a bad change of studios.
If you were a fan who started it, I recommend you to continue and fully be awed by the magical world and if you haven't even heard of this series.
I tell you. It's worth it!.
