A Black and White Saturday π₯πβ½π§
Today started like any normal Saturday, me sleepy and dreading the hours to come.
I had an all night church programme Friday night and felt like a zombie in the morning.
Still, that didn't stop my mom from prodding, begging and finally commanding me to go on a journey to the market and get some charcoal for drying the fishes my dad bought in the morning.
Sleepy eyed, grumbling and yawning like a retired fifty year old, I began the short journey, wanting to save some money from the transport, and get some steps on my watches pedometer, I went walking...
Thankfully, I saw some lovely things on the way that were just begging me to take a picture.
Along the way, I saw something that made me smile...
They were repairing the road too. This means that if I had entered a car for transport, I would have been dropped just half of the distance but force to pay the same amount as though I had been carried the full way.
The road repair going on here was a smaller project than the one going on near my house so there were far less machines...
This meant that the surroundings were more animated and filled with people though...
I wanted to take more pictures but I was pressed for time and had to go...
I walked on, briskly yet frivolously, taking in the pleasure of the Saturday feeling.
I saw some boys playing ball on the fields.
Couldn't get a good shot of them though because the field was fenced and I didn't want to cause a scene of being caught taking pictures of them.
Just after the field was the charcoal shop and I had completed my agenda of the outing.
Going back, I decided to enter a taxi because I was running late. I regretted it though for I saw a lovely scene coming up and I couldn't tell the driver to slow down or stop.
I did manage to get this image though...
At home, I took on the process of lighting the charcoal...
Was quite slow at first...
.. then soon we had a blasted infernoπππ₯
After the flames died out and we were left with the pure heat from the red white coals, we put on the fishes and grilled on!!
This is my entry for the August 10th #monomad challenge β¨
