1950's Christmas
Yes, the times-a-coming, bells-a-ringing and I've started staying into the snowier and hollyier tunes.
I wouldn't say I'm the most Christmas guy out there, but at times I do find myself in the mood for its carols and tunes.
Last week though, my mom hosted her end of year/Christmas party in her school and I, being the totally not voluntary DJ had to source for some Christmas Tunes.
The idea was Throwback Christmas so I went to the Christmas of the 50's down to the 90's and brought a reasonable album out.
Here are some of the tunes I made sure to play.

Rockin Around The Christmas Tree ~ Brenda Lee
This is probably the oldest song in this list and the most popular.
Brenda Lee or Little Miss Dynamite made this song in the 1950's and it's still a classic annual tune 70 years later. The lyrics are catchy, and her voice is raw and has that rock n roll vibe that just makes you want to move.
It's also great for a small dance party for the kids. ;-)
Santa Clause Is Coming To Town ~ Bruce Springsteen
This is for our folks of the 1980's. A valid Christmas special, one that is widely used and one that plenty haven't heard the real version.
It's been resung and reused a lot of time but the original recording is there for those who just look.
Bruce Springsteen voice was raw, frayed and just filled with joy.
Certainly not the best song for Christmas but what carries the song is the wonder, the joy and the fun ✨🤶
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow ~ Frank Sinatra
This song was originally first recorded by Vaungh Monroe in 1945 but Frank Sinatra with his smooth beautiful voice decided to redo it with the B. Swanson Quartet in the 1950's.
It's a common song to be played in Christmas yet despite it's common association, the song doesn't have any real Christmas affiliations 😂.
The writers supposedly wrote this song in a heat wave and just wanted to paint that cozy indoor atmosphere when the weather outside is wildly cold.
The year 2025 is counting down and this Tuesday I stroll into the festive season with three songs for @ablaze #threetunestuesday initiative.
They are oldies, but goldies, which are your favorite?
