Who Did This to My Taro?! - My TARO Plants Updates

Hello to all Hive gardeners and farmers in this community!

It’s good to be back again to share some updates about my taro plants, which I posted about recently. This Sunday morning I was heartbroken because my taro plants were damage and uprooted.

After I finished transplanting the taro babies, I didn’t put any barriers around them because I didn’t think chickens would go near them. After all, we don’t even own any chickens! huhu After 2 days of planting, everything was going well, and the taro plants were starting to recover. But on Sunday morning, when I went outside, I saw a chicken happily playing in the pot where I planted the taro.

this is how it looks like before

this is how it looks like after

I was so disappointed because I only get a little time to plant, usually when my kids are sleeping and yet a chicken can destroy all my efforts in just a few minutes of playing.

I threw stones at them and tried to chase them away, but they kept coming back like they really wanted to destroy everything I planted. So I called my husband and asked him to put up a barrier. He just placed some temporary wooden sticks around the pots because he had just come back from the farm, hadn’t taken a bath yet, and we were already running late for church.

It’s painful to think about, but I have to fix and add more soil to my taro plants again because they were scattered, and some of them were already uprooted. I’ll make sure to put a proper barrier this time so the chickens can’t get to them anymore. And I can only do this again when my kids are asleep. But since there’s a typhoon right now, I still have to wait for it to pass before I can fix my TARO plants.

That’s all for today’s update about my taro plants. I’ll share more once I’ve had the chance to fix them. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my update, I truly appreciate your time and effort!

This is Malou, always reminding you to keep on smiling! Mabuhay!

I feel you, sis. Chickens can ruin plants. Good thing your husband put something to protect them. Don’t worry, your next plants will grow better.

Hehe Im hoping to. But I'll put some barrier after fixing it so that they will not destroy it again.
