Sophia Turns One! - A Milestone Wrapped in Love, Celebration and Memories
Mabuhay!
Greetings to all fellow Hivers around the world! Especially to all Filipinos here in a wonderful @bayanihive community! It's good to be back again to share another milestone as a Filipino mother. It's my daughter Sophia’s first birthday and Christening, a simple celebration filled with family, faith, and love.

Another day, another story to share. This time, I would like to tell you another very special milestone in my life as a mother. The story of my one and only daughter Sophia. Actually she has a longer name, but to keep things simple and avoid confusion, I’ll just call her Sophia for short.

Sophia is now two years old, but the memories I am about to share was happened when she turned one. This was a very meaningful moment for our family because it marked her first birthday and her christening, two important events in her life celebrated in one occasion.

At that time, I was working as a call center agent on a work-from-home setup based in Nueva Vizcaya. Even though we were living there, we decided to celebrate Sophia’s special day at her grandparents home in Kabayan, Benguet. We wanted the celebration to be surrounded by family, relatives , warmth, and the familiar comfort of home.

I didn’t prepare everything alone. I was joined by my two younger sisters and my niece. They helped me in all preparations, like preparing the venue, we cooked, prepared the food, and made sure everything was ready for the big day of my baby Sophia. It wasn’t an extravagant celebration, but it was filled with love, celebration, faith and joy.

Before the celebration at home, we first brought Sophia to the church for her Christening. Watching her receive her blessing was a deeply emotional moment for me as a mother. After the church ceremony, we headed back to my in-laws’ house, where we shared a simple but joyful meal with family, relatives, friends and neighbors.

We stayed there for three days and two nights. Those days were filled with laughter, bonding, and rest, and moments that felt extra precious amid my busy work schedule. However, after the celebration, we had to return to Bambang. I needed to go back to work, and my two sisters and my niece needed to attend their classes as well.

Looking back, this milestone of my child reminds me that it’s not the size of the celebration that matters most, but the love, effort, and memories created. Sophia’s first birthday and christening will always hold a special place and memories in my heart and mind. This is one of the beautiful chapters in our family story that I will cherish forever.

That's all for today, thank you for reading my simple family milestone blog, I really appreciate your time and support! Please stay safe and keep smiling!
Happy holidays!
