Not just One, but Five Birthdays Celebrated in the Middle of the Storm – Celebrating the Octoberians’ Birthday!

Hello to all Hivers around the world! Warm greetings to all the Birthday celebrants this month of October!

Another day, another updates! im back to share a glimpse of our daily life in the middle of the storm.

This morning, we could already feel the effects of Typhoon Paolo in our area, the rains pour heavily along with not so strong winds. In fact, just yesterday, our kind mayor announced the suspension of classes for today. The whole province is now under signal number three, and the rain and the winds are getting stronger. But even so, it didn’t stop us from going through with the planned birthday celebration for our family members who was born in October.

This celebration was simple, it's just a family meal☺️. This has been a monthly tradition for us. Sometimes, there are many family members celebrating with us, but this time there were only a few partly because of the rainy weather, and of course, safety always comes first. Those of us who live nearby gathered at our aunt’s house, who also happens to be one of the celebrants. That’s where we cooked and prepared the food. We had "tinola" which is good for this rainy and cold weather, fried chicken- the kids favorite, and of course, cake! - everyone's favorite. The food may have been simple, but it was made with so much love.

The kids were especially happy, enjoying every bite of their food especially the cake! Together, we shared our simple meal while sipping hot soup, which was just perfect for the cold and rainy weather. After eating, we all went home since the rain and wind were getting stronger, and we had little ones with us. And of course, no one goes home without a little something to take with them hehe! The leftovers are a must! Hihi

This kind of celebration has already become a family tradition ever since I joined this family five years ago. Whether your young or old, there’s always something prepared, may it be simple or Fabolous celebration. Even if it’s just simple dishes, we always call on our cousins and aunts to join because food tastes even better when it’s shared with many especially loved ones or family.

We are truly grateful that despite the storm, the celebration pushed through. We thank the Lord for another year of life given to our birthday celebrants. We also pray that He continues to guide them and bless them with many more birthdays to come. We also pray for the safety of our fellow Filipino who are currently affected with the typhoon same with us. We didn't do anything just a meal shared with each other and quick chit-chat. Because even though this is a happy occasion it didn't feel right that we are celebrating yet on the other part of the country is suffering from calamities like typhoons, earthquake and fire. Still, we finished our meal with our full stomach and happiness ☺️
