Chasing the Colds Away in a Simple & Natural Way - A family's healing day in the Hot Spring
As a mother - Keeping the family healthy is one of the most important responsibilities we have. Do you agree with me?

Hello my dear friends and fellow parents here on hive most specially in this humble and beautiful @familyandfriends community. It's been a while since I last posted here and it's really great to be back to share one of our family bonding this month of November.

Because it has been raining nonstop here, my kids started getting mild symptoms of coughs and colds. So I suggested to my husband that we visit the nearby hot spring w/c is 30mins drive from our home to take a warm soak, bath and relax. He agreed, and after they finished harvesting, we decided to go even though it was already around 2 PM. We arrived there at about 3 PM and the kids immediately went into the small pool, which is really intended for soaking and for children to play in.

When we got there, there were already people mostly kids enjoying the relaxing therapy of warm water. It was Sunday, so it was expected the place to be crowded. With the cold, windy, and rainy weather here in the mountains of Benguet, especially here in our place near mt. pulag, not everyone can handle taking a bath in cold water, so the hot spring was truly a perfect choice. Especially these kids since they are getting coughs and colds because of our stormy and cold weather this is a perfect bath for them.

My kids were so happy playing with the other children they met there, as if they had known each other for a long time. Even my 10-month old baby enjoyed soaking with his dad, having fun while relaxing in the warm, slightly salty water. The kind of water here makes me ask myself why does the water taste like the ocean yet it came from the mountain stream?? The water comes directly from the mountain, flowing down naturally. Yet, You won’t see much water in the river itself because the residents there redirect it for this hot spring business, which actually works out well for us who live nearby communities and municipalities because we can easily come here and have a bath whenever we want too. Also the river doesn’t really have proper bathing areas and often ends up with trash.

After soaking in the mini pool for 2hrs, we decided to take a bath using the bathrooms available for rinsing or taking a proper final bath with clean and warm water. The kids don't want to move out from the mini pool because they are enjoying the warm water and the other kids company but I let them out because it was already 5 pm and it's getting dark. It truly feels like a blessing from God to have a place like this in our nearby municipality because this is not just for bathing, but because the natural hot spring helps relax the body and ease any kind of discomfort.

That’s why I just let the kids enjoy soaking and playing there. The warm water was a big help in easing their colds and discomfort, also it helps prevent their cough and colds symptoms from getting worse. But before we drive home, we grab a simple snacks at one of the snack haus on the roadside. We ordered Burgers and siomai, when we're done the horizon is getting darker and it start to drizzle so we rush to our car and go home.

That’s our simple family day story . I hope it brings a little inspiration to you and your family as well. I hope you are all in good health and remember to keep smiling no matter how our life situation is. Thank you so much and please stay safe!
Mabuhay!

Ang ganda naman ng bonding niyo perfect talaga ang hot spring lalo na sa malamig at maulan na weather. Buti na enjoy ng mga kids halatang hindi sila napakawalan agad sa pool such a simple but meaningful family day!
