Upcoming Changes in Splinterlands: The Introduction of the Wild Pass!

Since the launch of SPS as rewards in battles, tens of thousands of bot-farms have been created. These accounts, managed by a small number of users, exploit game dynamics, especially at lower levels, by renting cards from the market at reduced prices. They earn SPS tokens and then sell them, causing a slow but constant hemorrhage that negatively impacts the game’s economy.

To combat this, Splinterlands has banned the use of bots in Modern mode. Additionally, from the next season, the "Wild Pass" will be introduced. This fee, set at 40 VOUCHERS or 2000 DEC, aims to discourage large bot farm owners from participating or forcing the bot farm owners to invest more into the game economy, while having minimal impact on players with a few accounts or a single account. This change is expected to reduce the number of bots, thereby increasing the rewards for genuine players, ensuring they earn more SPS per win.

Interestingly, I use bots often to play. Despite this, I voted in favor of the proposal because I fully agree with fighting large bot farms. I consider myself more of an investor in Splinterlands rather than a traditional player. I continue to accumulate SPS and increase my staking, which is now nearing 300k SPS tokens!
