Splinterlands Season Summary and Getting Beat up by Liquidity Bots
Season Summary
It has been a while since I have reviewed my Splinterlands Season performance. So I thought that it is good time to share my observations on my latest season in Splinterlands. From the table below you can see that I was more focused on the Modern League last season. What surprised me was that in the past it was quite common that at the start of the season battles were more difficult and as the season would progress battles would become easier.
This was completely not my experience this time around. It seemed that at the end of the season battles became more difficult, particularly in the modern season. One possible explanation is that Splinterlands liquidity bots now can use ghost cards. What I experienced was that every time I would meet one of the liquidity bots I would be a lot more likely to loose than against a human player.
The reason was that these liquidity bots now were playing Tofu summoner and Venka in highly optimized fashion. Basically the best structured lineups with the best cards in the game. It would certainly explain the drop in end league for me. After consistently ending up in Champion 3 in the last four seasons my rating dropped to Diamond one two hundred points below my Rating High for the season:

If you were wondering how to tell a liquidity bot, that is actually quite easy. First of all they usually are not part of any Guild and play a maxed out line up including Rebellion cards:
And a confirmation can be found by clicking on their icon and seeing that they only play in Modern and despite having lots of wins they are not ranked in Modern or any other game mode:
Surprisingly this particular liquidity bot doesn't have a very high winning rate, which is under 50%, but I believe that is due to the fact that using ghost cards is a new feature for these bots and the twenty eight thousand battles were mostly done without using maxed out Rebellion cards...
Last Season results
Now lets take a look at my stats for last season. The vast majority of battles were in Modern league and my win rate was just under fifty percent in Modern. As you can see my maximum rating was achieved earlier in the season and dropped two hundred points from its high at the end of the season.

If you study a table above you will notice that my number one source of SPS last season was SPS validator rewards. I run an independent validator node in Azure and am currently ranked just outside the top ten SPS validators at number twelve, right behind Beaker whose tool I am using to help generate this report and sharing rewards from this post with:
As you can see my validator rewards are lower than those in the top ten, but still this is by far my largest single source of SPS.
My second source of rewards is ranked battles and third is SPS staking rewards with Survival mode rewards rounding out the top four.
Reward draws purchased
Here you can see that I only bought two epic reward draws and four legendary reward draws. The reason for this is that I consider legendary reward draws very expensive and these last two epic draws helped me max out my last epic reward card. Now that I own a full set of maxed out epic reward cards there is no sense to spend hard earned glint on Epic, Rare or Common reward draws as I have all of those maxed out.
You will notice that I have focused on chests buying up all of the chest rarities in the first tranche. I believe they represent a good buy for glint, because I still need merits to max out my Gladiator cards and I get some legendary reward cards out of these as well as lot's of additional energy which lets me play more battles and earn more SPS.
Special items earned

---|---|---|---|---|---|
Here you can see that despite opening all of the chests in the first tranche I have not managed to get any of the jack-pot rewards: packs or land plots. In fact I have never received any of the jack-pot prizes, so the chances must be really low...
I did get quite a bit of extra energy 70 energy which is almost two extra days worth of energy and I got over 37 thousand merits and a bunch of potions.

As you can see I continue earning lots of reward cards. I have them maxed out, but perhaps at some point I will max out a second set which would be really useful for survival mode.
League rewards
For league advancement I get the same number of league advancement chests in both Modern and Wild leagues. That is one of the reason I play in Wild is because despite lower SPS earnings you can earn double the amount of chests.
In terms of rewards you can see that once again no jack-pot prizes but these chests did add 12k of merits and 29 extra energy.

And more reward cards obviously. Reward cards do loose some perceived value to me once you have most of them maxed out.
Closing notes
Overall another great season in Splinterlands and any time you can add over 10k of SPS in two weeks it is a great season:
As you can see from the chart ever since Survival Mode and SPS Validator nodes launched my earnings have increased from three to six thousand SPS per season to ten to twelve thousands of SPS per season.
This report was created with the help from Splinterlands statistics tool from @beaker007 git-repo.

Dude.. the time you put into this post.. It is truly impressive. Well done!
Thanks, but I did have some help from a tool from Beaker so I am sharing 5% of rewards with him :)
I don't care if it's autogenerated... its beautiful lol
I am going to steal some ideas for sure :)
Also congrats on the pickups lol
The words are not auto generated and I did a few minor tweaks and additions to the pretty stuff :)
also just voted for your SPS Validator Node.. my 2,800 staked SPS may not make much of a difference but figured it couldn't hurt! ;)
Told some friends to give you a vote as well cause YOLO Good Luck!
Thank you! and every bit helps :)
So just a heads up about the max cards liquidity bots, they join your match at 15 seconds into the que. wink wink stopping the que before that will get you higher rewards but its a pain to manage. I did make a comment in the Splinterlands discord and they removed a couple cards, so maybe they won't be so bad this season.
Wow always something new to learn in Splinterlands :)
Thanks for sharing! - @azircon

The visual and layout of this payout are amazing. I would love to use Beaker's tool soon. Voted for your validator

I don't know if it's a bot or just people who are much better than me but every time I get close to getting to a new league and my reward someone smashes me down.
