Splinterlands Season Review and Analysis: Will Reach Over a Million SPS in Under Two Years

avatar

Season Summary

As you can see from the table below, last season I have fully focused on the Wild league in order to get as much SPS and Glint as possible. My modern card collection is mostly limited to Rebellion and Conclave Arcana reward cards with some basic common summoners at a gold tier level. Due to this I have repeatedly discovered that Modern League is too competitive for me.

Rating High3860NA

Longest Streak6NA

As you can see I was able to complete 412 battles with a win percentage of 49%. That is not the greatest number as it is below my benchmark of at least fifty percent win rate.

I don't have the evidence, but it seems that Wild League keeps getting more and more competitive. That is probably due to weaker players slowly leaving the game and those that remain keep strengthening their card collections.

You can also see that I was not able to break into the Champion 2 this season like I was able to do last season, that is another indication of increased competition:

The chart above is showing my performance in the Wild League in the last forty Splinterlands seasons and it is pretty clear my end rating has been on the decline for the past six out of seven seasons.

SPS brawl 272.528
MERITS brawl prizes 15240.0
GLINT ranked 243127.0

As you can see my top sources of SPS have stayed the same between this season and last season below. Interestingly there has been a significant drop in my SPS validator block validation rewards as last season I have earned about 500 SPS more from my validator.

Here is the table for the last Splinterlands season:

I can attribute that to the fact that I was one of the first SPS validators to bring my node back up and might have earned a bit more rewards compared to this season when pretty much all the top validators are back online.

The chart above is for my SPS earnings for the last twenty seasons. That also happens to be when the SPS validators were first launched. We can see that after initial spike to just over twelve thousand SPS per season there was a clear decline in SPS earnings and it recently stabilized between 8K and 10K SPS tokens earned total per season with half of my SPS earnings coming from the SPS validator rewards.

If we take a look at my full SPS earning history we see that I have started earning SPS in season 68 with at grand total of 25 SPS earned that season. This means that I have been earning and staking all of my SPS tokens for 106 Splinterlands Seasons!

106 seasons each lasting two weeks that is 212 weeks or if we divide 212 by 52 weeks in a year we get approximately four years!

Most of the SPS earning for me came between season 100 and the last season before the SPS validators launched in season 154, so if we look at my SPS earnings during those times they mostly fell in range of 2K SPS and 6K SPS per season. The seasons closest to the launch of SPS validators earned me between 3K and 4K SPS so this also supports the fact that half or more of my SPS earnings come from SPS block validation and holding SPS Validator license.

If we take the lower bound of my current SPS earnings which is about 8,000 SPS tokens per season or about 16,000 tokens per month then total annual SPS earnings can be projected at 192,000 SPS tokens per year going forward. My current SPS holdings are as follows:

Based on the projected annual earnings and my current holdings I should be able to reach 828K staked SPS in a year, and a year after that my staked SPS would cross 1,000,000 SPS tokens. If SPS ever reaches a dollar again, it would be life changing, but even at the 10 cent level it would be a chunk of cash.

Another thing that is interesting to see is how much my Glint token earnings vary between the seasons. Last season I earned 580,000 Glint and this season my earnings were only 486,284

On average in the last twenty seasons my Glint earnings normally range between 500k and 600K with my all time record Glint earnings per season coming at 700K in season 150 which is 24 seasons ago.

Costs

GLINT rewards draws -545000.0

As you can see I spent over half a million Glint tokens, but I have a really long way to go to max out the reward cards.

As you can see from the display above I have purchased all three hundred minor chests in the first tranche and all one hundred fifty chests in the medium chests first tranche and even dipped into ultimate chests buying two of those before I ran out of Glint tokens.

As you can see buying all those chests didn't get me any land plots or packs fifty five energy is nice though as that represents more than two extra days of energy.

I have made only one league advance last season from Diamond One to Champion Three, so I got a very small amount of chests though having four Ultimate chests is a good bonus.

With so few chests earned from a single league advancement it is no wonder that I earned pretty much nothing in the special items category.

Closing notes divider.png

Closing notes

Overall, this season was less about short term wins and more about a long term, compounding strategy. By focusing almost exclusively on the Wild League, I was able to maintain strong SPS and Glint earnings despite facing noticeably tougher competition. While the sub 50% win rate and inability to break back into Champion II highlight how competitive Wild has become, they also reflect a broader trend: weaker players are slowly leaving, and those who remain are consistently strengthening their collections.

From an earnings perspective, the season once again confirmed where the real strength of my account lies. Validator rewards and staking are the main sources of my SPS. Although validator block rewards dipped compared to last season, the long-term data shows that my SPS earnings have stabilized in a healthy 8,000 to 10,000 SPS range per season. After 106 consecutive seasons of earning and staking SPS which is roughly four years of uninterrupted compounding I am now in a position where future projections become genuinely exciting. At current rates, reaching 1,000,000 staked SPS within the next two years is a realistic outcome.

In short, this season didn’t deliver fireworks, but it delivered progress. And in Splinterlands, that kind of consistency is often what matters most.

Where are you getting all those stats for your SPS? I don't feel like I make that much with my node. I mean, I know I have fallen down the ranks for some stupid reason, but I guess I'd like to see my stats.
