This is just too funny! There must be a lot on the line for people to do these kinds of things. And this is in a marginal type sport like ski jumping...

I think it is hilarious that this is even being done and this is seen as a form of doping/cheating. They are not gaining much advantage so I guess an extra meter or two is all they are after so yes I agree if this was a major sport I would say this would have been done already as humans always look for an edge over their competition.
