Power Up Day: Why I’m All In on Hive

So, here we are again - Power Up Day. One of my favorite days on the Hive calendar, and not just because it gives me a reason to stack more tokens. No, for me, Power Up Day is symbolic. It's about alignment. It's about commitment. It’s about showing that I walk the talk—not just as a user, but as a witness and block validator of the Hive blockchain.

Being a witness is a responsibility. It’s not just some passive badge of honor. It means showing up, staying updated on the tech, voting on proposals, and helping steer the ecosystem in a direction that benefits all users. And part of that commitment is financial—putting my stake where my voice is.

Today, also happens to be my four year anniversary on HIVE! Yes, four years since I created a Hive account by joining Splinterlands! But I really got into Hive less than a year ago! And in that time my stake has grown from about 2,000 HP that I have accumulated in the first three years by making random posts about Splinterlands to over fifteen thousand HP today!

In fact I didn't even notice how I sneaked in into top 1,000 Hive Power holders:

And that was yesterday... Every time I hit that power-up button, I’m not just growing my own bag, I’m reinforcing the very security and governance of Hive. That Hive Power isn’t just “wealth.” It’s influence. It’s responsibility. It’s a signal to the entire chain that I am invested in this network’s future—literally and figuratively.

Oh and on the fun part of the process I actually got a new Hive badge today, I went from a Honey Bee to a Bumble Bee :)

Here on Hive, the blockchain is the proof. My HP is on-chain, verifiable, public. My growing stake is a loud and clear statement: I believe in Hive. I’m not going anywhere.

After the Power Up Day I have moved up sixty spots to 910ths spot.

My Hive Goals

For this year my Hive Goal is to reach at least 21,000 Hive Power which would place me around 720 ranking.

How am I going to reach this goal? Well we still have five months left in 2025 and here is what I am earning on Hive every thirty days:

These last thirty days were really good, I have made it into the top 100 rewarded authors on Hive, so it is hard to expect to earn over one thousand Hive tokens every months, but my other sources of Hive should be more stable with curation rewards slowly growing as my Hive stake grows.

Witness rewards also have potential of growing if I continue moving up the ranks in witness ranking.

But if I make it a goal to achieve 900 Hive in author rewards every thirty days as well as 110 curation rewards plus 190 witness rewards that would be around 1,200 Hive every month. Since we have five more months to go in 2025 that comes up to 6,000 additional Hive Power staked for the total of around 22,000 Hive Power by the time 2026 comes around!

Additionally staked Hive power grows at around 3%:

If I continue at the same rate by the end of 2026 I should have at least 36,400 Hive staked and by the end of 2027 I should be around 53,000 Hive Power. That number would make me one of the top 350 Hive Power stakers. And by the time 2029 rolls around I would be well into Orca status on Hive and right in time for the next Altcoin Season.

Hive Price Right Now

Hive is trading under $0.22 right now, down from the $0.27 range just a week ago. That kind of dip? That’s opportunity. Accumulate during the dips, reap the benefits during the rallies.

If you’ve been watching the broader crypto market, you know what’s coming. Altcoin Season is near - most likely kicking off in the final quarter of 2025. When it hits, Hive won't be this cheap. The time to build power is now, not when we’re back at $0.50, $1.00, or beyond. Who knows we may even revisit the highs of 2021 when Hive was over $3. At that point, you’ll wish you had been stacking at $0.22.

That’s why I never power down. Ever. That’s not a flex - it’s a philosophy. I’m not here for short-term gains. I’m here with a long term mindset. And stacking one Hive at a time. One power-up at a time. One block at a time.

So yeah, I powered up again today. And I’ll do it again next month. Because this isn’t just about compounding curation rewards. It’s about compounding trust, conviction, and community strength.
