New SPS Validator Node Announcement!
The SPS Validator network is about to become more secure and more decentralized. I am doing my part in decentralization of the SPS nodes and have already launched an SPS Validator node on Azure. This is basically a layer two blockchain for Hive, the nodes on this network are validating SPS related transactions.
My validator is running in Microsoft Azure and is a 24 hour / 7 days a week operation. The node is running on a dedicated virtual machine that only performs SPS Validator node activities. The specifications of the node I am running are in excess of the recommended SPS Validator node specifications.
And as you can see from the image below the node has lots of excess capacity in terms of System Load, disc space usage and memory utilization:
Node Specifications
Here are the specifications for the node I am running:
Size: Standard D4s v3
vCPUs: 4
RAM: 16 GiB
Operating system: Linux (ubuntu 24.04)
Disk:
Storage type: Premium SSD LRS
Size (GiB): 128
Max IOPS: 500
Max throughput (MBps): 100
Accelerated Networking is Enabled.
About Me
I’m a software engineer hailing from the Pacific Northwest—right in the heart of the Seattle area, fondly known as “Microsoft land.” My career began with Microsoft technologies, but for the last five years, I’ve been immersed in the world of Linux VMs and Kubernetes. This technical evolution perfectly aligns with running an SPS node. I am also a Hive witness please see my post here: https://peakd.com/witness-category/@seattlea/i-am-now-a-hive-witness
I started with Splinterlands in August 2021. Ever since that time I have been a Splinterlands player and once the Brawls started I have not missed a single brawl. So I am a very dedicated fan of Splinterlands.
Why should you vote for my SPS Validator Node?
- My node is above recommended specifications for the SPS Validator Node
- It is a dedicated server in a professionally managed high-end environment and not something I am running at home
- I am a big fan of Splinterlands as you can see from my blog and SPS holdings
- I have not sold a single SPS since the token launched and I make a commitment to the Splinterlands community to not sell a single SPS token until it reaches at least 25 cents per token! I will stake every SPS token received, so my validator rewards will be locked up and will not create a sell pressure on the token.
How You Can Vote
If you have any SPS staked you can vote for my SPS Validation Node here: https://thespsdao.github.io/SPS-Validator/account-votes/manage
Your vote will be very appreciated. SPS rewards for SPS Validator nodes are scheduled to start on March 7th at noon EST.
I have recently became a Hive Witness and would really appreciate your vote for me as a witness.
You can vote the following way:
- Via PeakD: Visit PeakD Witnesses, enter “seattlea” in the Name Search, or scroll down to my current position (97 / 92) and simply click the Vote button on the right.
- Via Hive Signer: Vote for seattlea
If you wonder what is the best way to get involved you can use my link to begin your Splinterlands and HIVE journey.

I voted for your SPS Validator. I just found you on here a few weeks ago but I like what I am seeing. You'll be a great SPS Validator!
Thanks, I will make sure that it is a good node.
Small world, I'm also originally from Seattle. Good to see the Pacific Northwest well represented here!
I noticed your API link seems a bit off. Looks like you registered it as
seattlea.westus2.cloudapp.azure.com
, which is causing the validator management page to openhttps://thespsdao.github.io/SPS-Validator/seattlea.westus2.cloudapp.azure.com
when you click on it.I think you should update your witness info with the API URL as
https://seattlea.westus2.cloudapp.azure.com
. Also, I'm unable to connect to your/status
endpoint, so you might want to check your setup.Yes, I need to check into my setup for the API, need to make sure I have reverse proxy working correctly. I will get it resolved before the 7th.
And thank you for the kind words!
