BATTLE MAGE SECRETS - RULESET: Odd Ones Out Weekly Challenge!
In Splinterlands, rulesets are like puzzle pieces that add depth and complexity to every battle. They force us to think creatively, adapt to different scenarios, and explore unique strategies. Remember that the wording of rulesets can hold hidden opportunities, as seen with Summoners in the "Odd Ones Out"

RULESET: Odd Ones Out
Description: Melee and ranged attacks will always hit their target.
Note: This applies to magic attacks as well even if there is a phase monster.

The Strategy
Strategy Tips for Restrictive Rulesets:
Don't Let the Restrictive Ruleset Become a Disadvantage: Instead of seeing restrictive rules as limitations, view them as opportunities to exercise your creativity. In the case of "Odd Ones Out" think about how you can make the most of the Summoners that aren't restricted by Mana cost. Their abilities and buffs might complement the Monsters that adhere to the ruleset.
Don't Waste Time: Time is precious in Splinterlands battles. While it's crucial to strategize, don't get bogged down in overthinking. Recognize the opportunities and threats posed by the ruleset, and adapt your strategy quickly.
Go with the Flow: Rulesets can dramatically change the dynamics of a battle. Instead of resisting the rules, adapt your strategy to go with the flow. Embrace the challenges and seek out the advantages that come with the unique ruleset constraints.
The Summoner

Grandmaster Rathe is a legendary Chaos Legion set summoner that adds void armor, plus one shield and amplify abilities to all friendly monsters. Rathe is a great summoner to use against magic attackers and works wonders in this ruleset.
1st Slot - Untraditional Tank

Spirit Hoarder is another legendary member of the Chaos Legion core set. At level four it comes with two magic damage, one speed and three health. I chose it for a tank because I have a taunt monster and I can use Spirit Hoarder's triage ability to heal the taunt monster. It also comes with a dispel and blind abilities all for just three mana.
2nd Slot - Triage Monster

Djinn Renova is a Chaos Legion rewards set monster and is great for this ruleset due to her triage and strengthen abilities as well as her impressive stats: four magic damage, three speed six health and this would set you back a total of seven mana.
3rd Slot - Taunt Monster

Iziar is a legendary member of the Soulbound rewards set. I don't have it maxed out for Champion or Diamond level, however even at level three this impressive monster is a crucial centerpiece of the show. It's primary value is in his abilities, particularly Taunt, Void and Martyr. This makes him perfect for the current ruleset as all of the magic damage is redirected to him and he is very sturdy against magic damage due to the void and fourteen base health points. Also placing him next to the main magic damage dealers is important so that when he dies he equips his neighbors with increased stats.
4th Slot - Support Monster

Adelade Brightwing is a very important support legendary Chaos Legion core set monster for this battle. This is primarily due to her very useful abilities. Most importantly Resurrect that is supposed to resurrect Iziar when he dies and shield repair. Other useful abilities are swiftness to speed up the whole team immunity and flying. Her base stats are two magic damage, one speed and five health points for the total mana of seven.
5th Slot - Damage Dealer Monster

Temporal Master comes with a base stats of five health points, two magic damage and two speed and three mana. His value for this battle is in his abilities of stun and Recharge that deals three times his base damage to the opponent every other round. This monster is not very popular with players as most do not like the recharge ability.
6th Slot - Tank

Runemancer Atuat is a legendary member of the new Riftwatchers set. It comes with three magic damage, three shield, ten health points and one speed with headwinds, forcefield and last stand abilities for the total of nine mana.
THE BATTLE
Looks like Cyberblock brought an older set summoner with void abilities and has a couple older magic monsters that I do not have. This is a fearsome crew. Let's see how it fairs against our lineup.
Round one was basically an exchange of blows with not much happening other than Iziar health going down and our team taking care of the shields from their tank.
In round two we lost Iziar, but Adelaide brought him back and now we have two more significant damage dealers
In round three we were finally able to take down their magic reflecting tank, this should make our battle much easier going forward
Round four was another round with not much changes other than our tank and taunt monsters getting really low on health...
In round five we lost our tank and taunt monsters, but were able to take out their leaching monster and the specs on our two front monsters are nothing to sneeze at now...
In round six we continued to work through their lineup taking out another monster:
In round seven they lost their magic silence monster, this will really power up our magic monsters
At the start of round nine our victory looks assured!
And in round nine Djinn Renova finishes off their monster with the first shot of the round!
Important win on our way to the Champion rating in Modern! We took home 70 points against a much higher rated opponent and 4.355 SPS which was nice...
