10-Years Of Stranger Things

It's crazy to think that the 1st season was released in 2016 which makes it around 10 years for this series to have 5 Seasons and finally be concluded. The first season which mainly was about some kids in the 80s was a smash hit which as often turned into the makers trying to get as much money out of it which they could which made it drag on to the point where all the kid actors by the end were near adults. The fact that ratings matter and are needed to fund another season combined with the actors getting more famous and booked. Basically, many series keep dragging on way too long and the time inbetween seasons is so long that it's hard to stay connected with all the events. This for sure was the case for me With Stranger things and I'm glad that it's finally concluded.

Stranger Things Season 5 (6.6/10)

I have mixed feelings on the last Stranger Things Season. On one side, I still kind of enjoyed watching it despite the fact that I was rolling with my eyes pretty much all the time. There are just so many things wrong with it that make no sense or are just way too convenient for the plot. There are also just way too many characters and this season since the main cast has become a lot older, there was a need to inroduce a new cast of kids

Especially Holly was one of the new main characters of the series who was cast and plaued by a different actress. As the old little sister character in previous series had almost no playtime, I started out having no clue who that girl was. However, halfway through the series that feeling was gone and she became one of the favorites similar to how Eleven stole the show in season 1.

Plot Conveniences

One of the problems I have with Season 5 is that it's just full of plot conveniences that make no sense whatsoever.

• The Mom who got nearly killed at the start of the season all of a sudden becomes a superhero killing the demadogs
• The Upside Down which used to be the scariest place now feels like something you walk in or out to without a sweat.
• Everyone feels invincible and it never feels like anyone is at risk.
• The Entire Military aspect didn't feel like it made much sense and the women who was in charge felt like a caricature. I also did not remember her from the previous seasons.
• The Gang goes out just shooting and murdering a bunch of soldiers without a blink or any kind of trauma or PTSD afterward which is just crazy
• The plan to get up there on the tower extremely conveniently made things stop and avoiding them from getting killed while they easyly could enter the upside world.
• The Vecna 'Final Battle' was way too Easy as all the Demagorgans, dogs, Bats from the previous seasons were nowhere to be seen.

The Good Things

This said, there also were some things that I liked and I generally didn't hate watching this series despite all the flaws. The explaination of the upside down actually being some kind of wormhole I liked. The visuals also were good and the ending I also didn't mind even though it dragged on quite a bit after Vecna was defeated. So basically it all got concluded in a somewhat satisfying way.

Conclusion: If anything, I'm glad that it's over and that after 10 Years they finally concluded this series which started out great and Season 1 and somehow had a spike in excitement in Season 4. I barely remember season 2 & 3 while the conclusion in the end was ok after a season 5 which was just too full on unrealistic Conveniences. A Mediocre 6.6/10 for me.
