📓 March 2025 Recap & Hive Blog Progress!

Hive Blog March Growth
March was my 3rd month keeping this blog and it was the best one so far even though I only managed to make 9 posts in 31 days. In the end, I'm only writing when I actually watch things and last month included a 12-Hour anime series which took quite some time. However, I did manage to get a couple good upvotes which helped me to get extra delegation and slowly but surely grow my blog along with my own upvote.
Special Thanks to @ocd / @ocdb / & @leo.voter for the curation along with everyone else!
I continue to use all the HBD that I earn and convert it to Hive to get a extra HP lease on Hive-Engine so my vote becomes worth more and more. This with the idea that it hopefully keeps growing month after month to eventually build enough Hive Power from my own.
I currently have 10 Different leases going and from this month on just try to request one once I have at least 3.5 Hive converted from HBD payouts. I always try to get 5 weeks worth of them adding up over time always with a chance that they don't get taken back instantly after they expire.

2nd Month Hive Progress

I haven't done a manual powerup this month but did go from 207 Hive to 266 Hive which is a nice increase and especially I did manage to grow my delegation quite a bit.

I also managed to go from 15 to 22 Followers adding another 7 which is not bad and I do see this as something that will get harder and harder as there are eventually less and less people who aren't following that are interested in what I bring with my blog.
Month | HP | +Leased | Follows | Posts | Comments | Total |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
January 2025 | 117HP | 2921HP | 9 | 11 | 100 | 111 |
February 2025 | 266 HP | 3916 HP | 15 | 10 | 89 | 210 |
March 2025 | 207 HP | 5564 HP | 22 | 9 | 115 | 334 |
I made only 9 Posts last month and continue to make regular comments (115 last month) on posts that I read and curate. My main way of going about things is to partially have some movie related bloggers on my https://hive.vote/ auto-upvote list so my voting doesn't go to 100% on days when I'm not around. These currently include @cinetv | @steemychicken1 | @andreseloy581 | @moviesonhive | @netflixr | @takeru255 | @incublus | @okarun
I will likely add others or remove some based on variable factors as content and the Hive KE Ratio. Generally I tend to start checking the ones I follow and afterward go to the communities that I'm subscribed to and sort them on new. Generally I always look at how much HP users have based on the time they have been on the platform and I only try to manually upvote those who actually are good for the platform and not the value extractors.
This way of going about things doesn't seem to maximise the curation rewards which are at just 6.49% but I'm not too busy with it to be honest even though it would be nice to get it closer to 8%+ so a big part of my leases pay for themselves.
I also aim to keep my own KE Ration at a favorable score along the way (https://beebalanced.streamlit.app/)
March 2025 Movies / Tv-Shows Recap
So I only watched 5 movies in March, while also watch 2 Series and 1 Anime Series.
My First Ever Anime Series: Death Note was a recommendation I picked up here on Hive in the Anime Realm Community and it was the 2nd best thing I watched all year (after Paris, Texas which by the way I also picked up here on Hive as a recommendation that I didn't know yet). This anime Series consumed my life for a couple of days as it's 37 episodes and 12 Hours long but it surely was worth it and I had a blast watching every moment of it. I do plan on giving more anime series a chance going forward. Solid 8.9/10
Movie I went to watch in the Cinema: I went to the movies once last month along with a friend but was shocked to see the price of a ticket at 15.30€ which has gotten to a point where I'm going to be very selective and also try to go to smaller theaters where prices are cheaper. The Movie was Mickey 17 which I enjoyed for what it was but at the same time was left slightly underwhelmed. Still a good 7.6/10
Overrated Mini Series: It felt last month that the whole world was watching and praising Adolescence which made me go in with way too high expectations which left me very dissapointed as I never really connected with it. It's only because I knew it were only 4 episodes that I continued to watch. But hey, that's just me and if so many people see it as a masterpiece there must be something to it. It was not for me though so a 6.8/10 only which probablt is a bit hard purely because my expectations were so high
Series That Does Deserve the Praise: The 2nd Season of Severance came to an end and I really loved it even more than the 1st season. I only have good things to say about it and highly look forward to the 3rd season. Very Solid 8.9/10
Overrated Oscar Winner: I gave Anora which won the oscar for the best movie a chance but it also left me underwhelmed as plot described in 1 sentence pretty much is the entire movie. So another oscar winner movie just like many others that isn't 100% for me. 6.6/10
Others: With Taste Of Cherry I discovered a new director that got me interested in movies from Iran with Abbas Kiarostami and I do plan to watch more of his films. 7.3/10. 2 other films I just has some good fun with not needing to think too much were Hit Man & The Edge Of Seventeen which I also both scored a 7.3/10.
April 2025 Outlook
I haven't watched much in the past week and will be going on a 7-Day Ski Trip on Saturday. So it's going to be a challenge to keep up the momentum. Right now, there are only 2 things I plan to watch/Play which is The Barakamon anime series which has 12 episodes of 20 minutes. Aside from that I also plan on playing Hades on the switch which is on a discount at the moment as It's a game that I have wanted to play for a long time. After the Ski Trip is over, I'll likely watch a couple of movies still.
