📓 June 2025 Recap & Hive Blog Progress!

This blog acts as a personal journal of all the movies, Tv-Shows, & Games I consume during a year which enhances my overall experience. The ratings that I give are fully based on my personal preference and enjoyment at the time of watching and I'm writing spoiler-free reviews.

Hive Blog June Growth

June turned out to be an extremely slow month when it came down to consuming content. This mainly because I had plenty of time as the football season is over and fully switched my focus toward health and losing some weight. So I often was home quite late and tired which combined with the hotter weather just didn't put me in a place where I really wanted to watch many movies. It did work though as I managed to lose around 5kg and still have 3-4kg to go before reaching my optinal weight which I plan to pull off in July.

All of this made it a month with only 4 posts which includes the monthly progress update and just 2 movies.

I continue to get some ok upvotes even though it wasn't like the month before where a couple 5$+ payouts in Author rewards really helped me grow. I continue to use all the HBD that I earn and convert it to Hive to get a extra HP lease on Hive-Engine so my vote becomes worth more. This obviously has slowed down but that's fine. In the end, I'm not that much in if for the money but more because this blog really enhances my overall viewing experience and helped me to get some of the best recommendations in what to watch.

Many of my Hive-Engine Leases are set to expire so I will have to start over once the content picks up again.

Last month, I was at 5800 Effective HP with a 100% vote that is now worth around 0.06$-0.07$. Due to the lack of activity and a decrease in the Hive Price, this now has dropped to 4020 Eddective HP and a 0.04$ Full vote. I continue to use it to both curate Movies, Tv-Show, & Games related content here on Hive and upvote those who leave comments on my posts.

5th Month Hive Progress

Desipte all this, I still managed to grow my Owned SP from 396.779HP to 468.182HP mainly because the biggest post payout from last month was not counted yet in previous numbers.

I did manage to get 3 more people here on Hive to press the follow button getting me up to 42 and am following 99 accounts now myself. Along with my post count, my comments also dropped but I still did a respectable 52 of those.

So everything taken into account, I'm still quite pleased with the progress and I aim to pick up the pace a bit again in July. I still use a https://hive.vote/ auto-upvote list so my voting doesn't go to 100% on days when I'm not around. I haven't made any changes to the list which still includes @cinetv | @netflixr | @takeru255 | @incublus | @okarun | @bighungrypanda | @skiptvads | @slobberchops | @pravesh0 | @ocdb

I continue to do most curation manually though. The Curation number has spiked to 12.37% and I assume the decrease in overall HP with some expired leases has something to do with that.

May 2025 Recap

I first made a review of the Doctor Who Season (5.9/10) which ended and which for me just totally fell off and I might stop watching again all togheter if a new season comes as it just is no longer what I once used to be. I also went to see Bring Her Back in the cinema (7.0/10) which was ok but not nearly as good as Talk To Me which is from the same directors and which made this one highly anticipated for me. Finally I did watch my 1 monthly Anime Movie which this time turned out to be Ghost In The Shell (7.6/10) which had great animation and Philosophy but was kind of put down a bit by the fact that many movies & tv shows that came after it and which I already watched had similar themes while the English voiceovers also weren't the best. I still very much respected it for what it was though. It's a movie that can be rewatched multiple times but I likely will leave it with this one time unlike A Silent Voice which I do want to watch again some day. Finally, I also started watching the 2nd Season of Andor as I rememberd really liking the 1st but the only thing that kept me going was the fact that I potentially could make a post from it. However, by episode 6 I just called it a day and gave up as it never really managed to capture me and It's unlikely that I will still finish it.

July 2025 Outlook

I already went to see F1 The Movie yesterday and a review of that one is coming (Spoiler: I have a really great time at the movies), aside from this I also plan to go watch the new Jurassic Park Movie and see the 3rd season of Squid Game. The plan also is finally buy a new tv with an eye on the affordable LG Oled B5 55 inch coming from a 42 Inch Sony Bravia released in the year 2013 (sony kdl 42w655a). I also aim to watch at least 1 anime movie, the series Murder Bot has my attention and I might give that a chance. Aside from this I also want to watch an older movie and maybe give Top Gun Maverick a chance if I do end up getting a bigger tv as I enjoyed the F1 movie which is from the same director.
