📓 April 2025 Recap & Hive Blog Progress!
Hive Blog April Growth
April was a month where I went on a Ski Trip and mostly consumed series and Games while only watching 1 Movie. This made it harder to bring enough content with only 4 posts last month. However, I continue to get good upvotes and also increased engagement while I continue to consume plenty of content of others and give out upvotes worth +0.05$ which at least is something especially for newer people here on Hive.

I continue to use all the HBD that I earn and convert it to Hive to get a extra HP lease on Hive-Engine so my vote becomes worth more and more. However, with just 4-5 posts last month it's a challenge to keep up and continue to grow this.

I managed to grow my owned Hive Power with another 53HP last month but I am spending all HBD on Delegations so I'm not really earning any of that.
I also managed to grow from 22 to 28 Followers adding another 6 chipping away one at a time.

As I was away for a full week I only made 5 Posts last month and continued to make regular comments (78 last month) on posts that I read and curate. My main way of going about things is to partially have some like-minded bloggers on my https://hive.vote/ auto-upvote list so my voting doesn't go to 100% on days when I'm not around. I haven't updates the list which currently include @cinetv | @steemychicken1 | @andreseloy581 | @moviesonhive | @netflixr | @takeru255 | @incublus | @okarun
I continue to do most curation manually however trying to give support to only the ones who actually are good for the Hive Ecosystem while there are also many who have been around for a long time but haven't bothered building any kind of investment into Hive Power and the ecosystem and I tend to not upvote those.
I did a bit better on the curation APR going from 6.49% last month to 6.83% now but I'm not sure if I will able to get it much higher as I don't really play by the rules which for as far as I understand favor upvoting posts that will get more upvotes after your vote.

April 2025 Movies / Tv-Shows / Games Recap
I pretty much got hooked again on the Balatro which takes up most of my 'entertainment time'. However, I will try to get a grip on it in May as my backlog of movies / Anime / Series has been growing quikcly and I managed to get a lot of good tips here on Hive by browsing many of the powts with Reviews.
I also Watched my 2nd Anime Series with Barakamon which was totally different from Death Note but also quite enjoyable. I plan to watch at least 1 anime movie in the new month but I'm not sure if I will find the time to start another series just yet.
The Release of the 7th Season of Black Mirror also was something I wanted and just had to watch. While it was enjoyable, the expections based on some of the past episodes just were unrealistically high.
The only Movie I watched was My Old Ass which actually turned out to be really enjoyable scoring a solid 7.7/10. Just a fun Comedy-drama-romance-comingofage film that also has a short lenght so it was easy to watch it one evening.
May 2025 Outlook
I will try to limit my Balatro Play time and make a habit of watching more movies again in the evening before going to bed. I'm also watching the new Doctor Who Season as a weekly episode but it will be over a month before the season is over. I also plan to go watch Sinners in the Cinema but I haven't heard back from my friend yet to go see it. Aside from this I aim to watch an anime movie and also 1 old movie.

Good job, mate. You just need to post more regularly and you'll be doing great.
That is the challenge as I only consume so much content and it tends to go down a bit during the summer. But yeah, overall things are going really great and It's fun to build on that.
Good progress man, renting Hive Power can help you grow your account, but maybe you can convert your HBDs to Hive and strengthen your account that way. With the Hive price so low, it might make sense.
I prefer sticking to leasing HP as that really makes the biggest difference I believe. My reasoning is that the cost of renting (around 8% APY) is mostly recovered by the curation rewards while the extra influence & goodwill by having votes that are actually worth 0.05$+ allow me to grow way faster compared to choosing 100% power up.
I'm actually surprised that not more people are doing this as I see it as one of the best longer-term strategies to go from nothing to actually building something here on Hive.
