From my perspective of how I view empathy I will regard it as having the ability to sense other people's emotions, and also being able to relate with what they might be thinking or feeling.
Empathy plays a big role in both emotional and social intelligence in our lives because of how it helps one look into the situation other people are facing more like "putting yourself in their shoes".

Empathy is a very interesting topic to talk about even as in most cases it is being misunderstood with sympathy because of how in line they work, adding more light to this I would like to give a brief differentiation between empathy and sympathy.

Through empathy "sympathy could be generated but empathy cannot be achieved from sympathy. Empathy is understanding what another person feels and also the compassion we give. while sympathy is more of feeling pity for another person, mind you, you could have pity over a situation of a person and at the same time have zero empathy related to that same situation because empathy only gives you the ability to really understand the situation.

For example when you see another person suffering, probably after they've lost a loved one, you can picture yourself going through that same experience which is totally different from having pity over the situation. You can have pity for an accident victim but doesn't guarantee that you can feel or understand what they might be going through.

POWER OF EMPATHY.
Looking through everything I have come to understand about empathy I believe it is very powerful as it allows us to inspire, influence, and connect with others. Most of the time people go through situations they find hard to express due to the fact they feel their feelings might be misunderstood and exhibiting the skill of empathy or practicing empathy will help us notice other people's needs, understand their distress, and inspire us to alleviate their suffering.

Empathy is so powerful that it could stand a remedy to most of the big problems we are facing in life today. When there is understanding between people I believe it will promote peace and togetherness because it puts into your mind a picture of how you deal with some certain situations.

I will advise that we should put in work on ourselves relating to this topic because it will really help in promoting a lot of emotional and social intelligence which can penetrate deep in connecting people positively with each other.
