Hola, comunidad, ahora sí estamos en la recta final hacia la Navidad y el Fin de Año. Está es una temporada en la que nos gusta "intensificar" cosas que hacemos en el resto del año, como lo son el visitar, escribir y telefonear a nuestros seres queridos.
En esa tónica, la temática esta semana de Hive Open Mic es, precisamente, "Llámame".
La canción que traigo para compartir es una de esas que cuando llegó lo hizo para quedarse. Tocó el favoritismo de un público que más nunca la dejó de lado. Además que la tenemos gracias a un grande de la música como lo fue el inolvidable Sammy David Jr. El cantante, músico multinstrumentista, bailarín, actor y comediante estadounidense cuyo talento fue y es innegable.

La canción: 'I just called to say I love you"


Su lírica comienza con una lista de celebraciones importantes entre las cuales - por supuesto - no falta la Navidad. Y esa lista responde a una razón importante: Resulta que el protagonista hace la llamada telefónica y aclara que no llamó porque se estuviera celebrando esto o aquello o lo de más allá. Una táctica para hacer crecer el suspenso en la persona que recibe la llamada: "¡Caramba, es cierto, no es por alguna de estas celebraciones que recibo su llamada, entonces ¿Por qué me telefoneó?" Y al final... La frase reveladora... La tapa del frasco, la guinda en el postre, la sombrilla en la Piña Colada: "Te llamé para decirte que te amo"


Con esa frase cierra la canción, pero la historia no se cierra, queda con un final abierto y durante décadas los amantes de la priducción musical de Sammy David Jr hemos especulado.con los posibles finales de esta historia, con la respuesta que recibió está llamada ....¿Cuál habrá sido la respuesta a ese emotivo "Te llamé para decirte que te amo"?

¡Quién sabe! Quizá "¿Por qué no viniste a decírmelo en persona?" Pero...tal vez el chico estaba muy lejos quizá en otro país ¡Hasta en otro continente! Y, sintiéndose solo se le alborotan el amor y la nostalgia y decide llamarla y contarle acerca de ese amor que ha tenido oculto quien sabe por cuánto tiempo. Bueno... La llamada telefónica tiene sus ventajas, si su amor es rechazado él no verá el rostro apenado de la chica, ni ella el rostro triste de él. Y si la respuesta es positiva será el faro que ilumine sus oscuridades existenciales mientras llega el momento del feliz regreso a su lado... Juguemos un poco con la imaginación ¿Cuál creen ustedes que habrá sido la respuesta a esta importante frase que lleva implícita la pregunta "Y tú ¿También me amas?"

The song I'm sharing is one of those that, once it arrived, was destined to stay. It became a favorite with an audience that never forgot it. And we have it thanks to a musical legend like the unforgettable Sammy David Jr. The American singer, multi-instrumentalist, dancer, actor, and comedian whose talent was and is undeniable.

The song: 'I Just Called to Say I Love You'


Its lyrics begin with a list of important celebrations, among which—of course—Christmas is included. And that list serves an important purpose: It turns out the protagonist makes the phone call and clarifies that he didn't call because this or that or the other thing was being celebrated. A tactic to build suspense for the person receiving the call: "Wow, that's right, it's not because of any of these celebrations that I'm getting your call, so why did you call me?" And finally... The revealing phrase... The lid on the jar, the cherry on top, the umbrella in the Piña Colada: "I just called to say I love you." With that phrase, the song closes, but the story doesn't end there; it remains open-ended, and for decades, fans of Sammy David Jr.'s music have speculated about the possible endings of this story, about the response to that call... What was the answer to that emotional "I just called to say I love you"? "I love you?"


Who knows! Maybe, "Why didn't you come and tell me in person?" But... perhaps the boy was very far away, perhaps in another country, even on another continent! And, feeling alone, love and longing stir within him, and he decides to call her and tell her about this love he has kept hidden for who knows how long. Well... The phone call has its advantages: if his love is rejected, he won't see the girl's heartbroken face, nor she his. And if the answer is positive, it will be the beacon illuminating his existential darkness until the moment of his happy return to her side arrives... Let's play a little with our imagination.
