Deseo participar con un canto navideño de mi autoría que compuse hace algunos años... Un poco antes de la pandemia.
En aquella época dirigía el coro de la iglesia a la cual asisto ("Nuestra Señora de Las Mercedes" en Villa de Cura, estado Aragua, Venezuela). Lo ensayamos para tocarlo fuera de la iglesia, al concluir las Misas de aguinaldos, ya que es costumbre reunirnos frente a la iglesia a tomar las meriendas que traigan los integrantes del grupo encargado del dia (algo para masticar y algo caliente para tomar) y cantamos y bailamos "parrandas", fulías, el repertorio de [Un solo Pueblo](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-fAsL3WS7iHweKqHT_ZHbMtANVRGfbKj&si=Wluryx-7O1NkxtZL) - que es como si lo hubiéramos hecho nuestro - y otras canciones navideñas "movidas - alegres" pero que no son apropiadas para entonar dentro del templo. Eso fue "hace tres sacerdotes atrás" ya que hemos pasado por varios cambios de presbíteros desde ese momento.
Para aquel entonces - antes de la pandemia - estaba como párroco el padre Alexis y recuerdo - como nota anecdótica - que la primera vez que escuchó está canción se alarmó por cierta parte de su letra que él consideró que coqueteaba peligrosamente con la protesta y la denuncia. Bueno... Lógicamente no la volvimos a cantar en las Navidades de ese año. Sin embargo, el año siguiente le dimos "otra cantadita," y, esa vez, no solo apreció.la parte bromista de la letra sino que dejó de verla como algo peligroso y ¡Se volvió su favorita! Siempre nos pedía "Canten el tirintintín"
Mi intención al escribir la letra es hacer énfasis en que la celebración navideña se debe centrar en eso: en celebrar el nacimiento del Niño Dios. Y si la situación económica o de otra índole no nos permite tener ahora las cosas materiales que antes ocupaban lugar privilegiado en nuestras celebraciones...No debe disminuir nuestra alegría ni los deseos de celebrar porque el sentido de la Navidad es celebrar la natividad del Señor.
Es lo que celebramos y eso no desaparece porque no podamos pintar la fachada, estrenar ropa y zapatos, comer hallacas y dulce de lechosa verde, ni pan de jamón, ni panetón, ni nueces y avellanas, ni..., ni..., ni...,...
Se pueden multiplicar los "nis", pero permanece inalterable el sentido de la Navidad: que el Niño Dios nació para salvarnos del pecado y en estas épocas celebramos ese nacimiento, y aunque no podamos saber con exactitud la fecha en que nació nuestro Señor... Eso también es intrascendente...lo que celebramos es que ha nacido el Niño Dios y ese es el sentido de la Navidad

My intention in writing the lyrics is to emphasize that the Christmas celebration should focus on that: celebrating the birth of the Christ Child. And if the economic or other situation does not allow us to now have the material things that previously occupied a privileged place in our celebrations... It should not diminish our joy or our desire to celebrate because the meaning of Christmas is to celebrate the nativity of our Lord, Little Jesus Boy, and that is the meaning of Christmas
