Wagon Kits and Big Change On Conflicts

2025_SMC_27.png

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

Conflicts have been live for almost a week now. It is the new card airdrop mechanics that were first implemented with Rebellion where players need to stake their cards and packs on Wagons to receive an airdrop. Now we have its version 2.0 implemented in Conclave Arcana, with some changes made to it, particularly, the introduction of Wagon Kits, which will be used to create and repair Wagons by utilizing different Land resources.

So, for this week's Community Engagement Challenge, I will be taking a look at Wagon Kits. How can it be crafted? What are the resources needed, and whether it's better to craft it, purchase it, or is there another option? I will also discuss the upcoming update on the #conclaveconflicts that will be implemented on the next airdrop.

Wagon Kits

Wagon Kits is a new item that can be crafted using Land Resources. Their primary use is to create and/or repair a wagon after it gets destroyed when a player received an airdropped card. Well, the repair stuff is kind of weird since it uses the same resources either way, so replace may be the more appropriate term for it. Right now, the only means to get a Wagon Kit is either to purchase them on the Non- card Market for 6,390.782 DEC at the lowest.

Or, If you are a land owner that produce the following resources, you can go to the Artisan Quarter to craft your own kits.

Using the site https://next-land.spl-stats.com/resource, we can get an idea of how much it costs to craft a wagon kit, and as of the writing of this post, a Wagon Kit will cost for about 5,580.10 DEC or about $5.025 to craft.

We can then make a breakdown of each resource to know how much each resources costs.

Comparing both methods, we can see that it is cheaper to just craft the Wagon Kits yourself but that was just assuming that you produce this resources. Well, even if you don't have some of the resources (I.e. You don't have an Ore Mine nut you have the rest of resources.), it is still possible to get most of them through the Liquidity Pools with the exception of Aura as it was currently non-tradeable.

So, if there is a third option, it could be that, if you do not have all the resources, as long as you have an Aura Lab to produce Aura then you can just use the liquidity pools to acquire the other resources you were missing and that may still be less expensive than just buying the kits on the market.

Upcoming Change in Conflicts

Splinterlands Discord

Just the following day after Conflicts comes live, an announcement was made, stating that, starting with the 2nd airdrop, all cards that will be won will cause a Wagon to break, requiring for them to be replaces. This was due to the fact that, for the first airdrop, there are players that will get more than cards than the Wagons that they own, mainly because of the huge CP boost that Black Foil card gives. Here is a table to give you an idea of the difference in contribution for each of the card types.

RarityRFGFBF
Common2,1004,98824,938
Rare2,41511,55057,750
Epic4,83026,250131,250
Legendary5,77552,500262,500

With the upcoming change, players that will get tons of airdrop will soon required to have an equal amount of Wagon which is good for the utility Wagon Kits and will mainly affect those who heavily invested in the assets, so being a small time player, this will not affect me as I don't even have enough points to get a guarantee.

Closing

On one hand, I can commend the team for their flexibility as soon as they see things that need fixing, but at the same time, it's kind of disappointing to have things overlooked when it takes the team 2 months to start the conflicts, aside from the fact that the change will require additional dev work that will take away the team for the other things that they are working.

Thank you and see you on the next post!
