TTT| Ultimate Ube
The term "Ube" stands for the crop Purple Yam.
Hello to all my fellow music lovers!
Last Saturday, I was on an event called Rakpublika 2025. It is an annual event to celebrate the Philippines First Republic held at the City of Malolos and this year marks its 126th anniversary. To commemorate this important part on the Philippine's history, bands from different parts of the country are invited to perform on this event. This year has the biggest lineup with more than 50 bands (click link for the complete list) and the songs that I want to share for this week comes from the band Ultimate Ube which is a homegrown band from the City of Malolos. Anyways, before I share their songs, the link below was their live performance during Rakpublika that I captured.

Mga Hayop Kayong Lahat (You are All Animals)
The songs' message was pretty straight forward, that humans were nothing but animals and sometimes even worse than them because of the bad things that we can do to others because of greed, lust, anger and many more. For the most part of the song, the band was just listing different types of animals on the beat of what I believed to be as Jazz Fusion, similar to Radioactive Sago Project and their vocalist Lourd de Veyra, was even quoted in the song then it becomes very heavy.
Hunky Funky
This song has a very groovy tune that listening to it makes me want to dance and still able to have really heavy parts into it. Meanwhile, the song was bout a man describing the woman of his dreams and how he wished to be with her.
Manhid Na Puso (Numb Heart)
And for the last song, Manhid na Puso, was a song about a person who becomes numb after a breakup. In the MV you can see a girl who tries to cheer his friend who went through a breakup because she loves the person but no matter what she do, the person seems to not be able to recover. Well there are some expected turns on this song that I don't want to spoil so I rather recommend you to finish the song.
