The Last Day of 2025

Hello there! @saydie here, greeting everyone with a happy New Year!

2025 has finally ended, but it feels like we just welcomed it just a short time ago. While I can say that it was a good year for me, I would say that it's a bad year overall, looking at the damage of the various calamities that befallen our country, which could have been minimized if not for the unchecked greed of those in power. Even now, I know that many people are still recovering from all those disasters, and despite everything that they've gone through, they still have the resilience to start the year with a positive outlook.

Anyway, before I turned this post into a rant, what I really want to share is how I spent the final day of 2025, which I started pretty early to join a community run set in the City of Malolos. I picked running on a whim about four months ago, joining a couple of fun runs near me, but it was my first time joining an event that is completely run by the community. And since it was a free event with no extravagant start/finish line, I did not expect many people to join, but to my surprise, about a thousand runners from different parts of Bulacan had joined (Here is the Drone Footage of the event), which is quite fascinating, and while they also said to not expect any extravagant food, we were greeted with taho, lugaw and lechon after the event.

But the biggest surprise is that, for the first 400 runners to get a medal, since they did not make an announcement for it, and you will only know when you reach the finish line. It's not that I'm a fast runner to be one of those who get the medal, it's just that the others took their time taking pictures and groupies, so they did various stops. Also, they do a lot of giveaways such as cash, Gift certificates, running socks, and even shoes. Luckily, I was able to get a box of vitamins.

After the run, I immediately go home, take a bath, and switch from my running mode to player mode, playing Splinterlands since it was also the end of the season for the game, and I still need to earn some more rating to secure my leaderboard spot. Thankfully, I was able to perform decently and get enough wins to stay at the 91st spot, giving me a 50,000 Glint that I can use to purchase more reward cards. I also started making the draft of this post since I know that I will have a hungover the next day and will likely be not in a good shape to write a post, which proved to be right as you are only getting this post right now.

Moving forward, close to the end of the year, there was really nothing much to do, so we started the drinking session with some neighbors, a little bit before it got dark, but we did it slowly to make sure that we would stay awake to welcome the new year. Might as well sing in the karaoke to keep us entertained. As the feast, we do not really cook that much cause even with what we had prepared, it's still too much for 3 people that we still have some leftovers today, and we still have my sister's birthday on Sunday to prepare for.

And then, it finally comes a few minutes before the end of the year, so we go outside to watch fireworks and even light some by ourselves. We stayed outside for about 30 minutes, and then we finally went back home to continue the celebration until I started to feel the alcohol within my system and decided to end my night.

And that's how I spent the last year of 2025. It was not overly extravagant, but I think it was quite meaningful and a little productive at the same time. By the way, since it's the first day of the month, it's also the time for the Hive power-up day, and to continue with my 15th Hpud streak, I powered up another 10 Hive for this day. Just like 2025, I also plan to continue participating on Hpud throughout 2026 to continue to increase my stake.

That was it for me. Thank you, and see you on the next post!
