Introduction

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

This will be my first entry for this weeks Battle Mage Secrets with the featured ruleset Heavy Hitters. This is a ruleset were all monsters have the Knock Out ability.

The Battle that I will show for this time will come from @bltzr-wizard-726 which is the scholar account I'm playing from Balthazar Guild in partnership with Side Door Ventures and was currently playing on Diamond League of the Modern format.

But before I reveal the battle, let us learn more about this ruleset.

All Monsters have the divine shield.png Divine Shield ability.
The first time the Monster takes damage it is ignored.

When it comes to Divine Shield, the summoner Lorna Shine gives this ability to all friendly monsters at the start of the battle. Although monsters do not take damage the first time, Divine Shield does not provide protection against Poison or other debuff skills.

This battle comes with a 17 mana cap where the active rulesets were Shades of Grey, Noxious Fumes and the featured ruleset for this week which was Holy Protection. With this in consideration, my lineup was consist of:

Summoner: Kelya Frendul - This summoner gives +1 speed to all ally monsters allowing me to be able to attack faster and also gives +1 armor that will increase my protection against the upcoming range attacks.

  • 1st Position: Chaos Agent - A 1- mana no damage card but comes with Dodge which increases the evasion chance by 25% together with Phase that allows it to evade magic attacks and Backfire that will inflict damage to the attacker when they miss their attack on this card.

  • 2nd Position: Scavo Hireling - Another no damage monster that comes with Repair which allows it to restore damaged armor and Slow that reduces the speed of all opponent monsters. It also has Camouflage which makes it unable to be attacked directly unless it was on the fist position.

  • 3rd Position: Venator Kinjo - With Reflect Shield, this monster was immune on reflected and blast damage and with Immunity, it cannot be afflicted by negative status effects. Aside from that, it also has Camouflage and Slow.

  • 4th Position: Spirit Hoarder - This magic unit has the Triage ability which allows it to restore the health of backline monsters while at the same time, it has Dispel which removes the buffs of the target and Blind which increases miss chance by 15%.

  • 5th Position: Magi of Chaos - This magic unit has the most damage on my team and comes with Oppress which doubles the damage against monsters with no damage.

Battle Recap

Here is a replay of the battle which at you can watch at Splinterlands.

Holly Protection.png

Did My Strategy Work?

Since the opponent have ways to increase their health, I was clearly the underdog on this battle as they can continue to gain health as they inflict damage to my monster but because of the Divine Shield brought by the Holy Protection ruleset, the opponent were not able to increase their health as much which resulted for their monster to die because of Poison specially that final attack by Moxian Rebel which could have anihilated my Magi of Chaos on round 4.

That was it for this post. Thank you and see you at the next one.
