My First Black Foil CA Rewards

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
Finally, the goddess of RNG smiles on me cause with the first weekly fortune draw, I was able to win my first Black Foil card. Ever since the release of Conclave Arcana, I've been really hoping to get this card whenever I open packs, and it is also the reason why I keep on playing Frontier Mode. Unfortunately, luck was never on my side, and black foils have remained a chase card for me for a long time, until recently, when I won a Black Foil Grim Bonewhip. To be more precise, it was my alt account @agonyaccepted which I only play lucci gucci that really won the raffle.

And its not as if I had an easy win too. After all, there are a total of 138,999 entries that were entered during the last draw, while I only 174 entries that gives me about 0.00125% chance of winning.

Anyway, I want to show with fellow Splinterlands players the card that I got from the weekly Fortune Draw, Grim Bonewhip.

Grim Bonewhip

Grim Bonewhip is a 5-mana card with the Death attribute and are of the common rarity. It is a melee unit with a maximum of 3 damage, along with 3 speed, and 6 health which does not make it beefy as a tank since its not. It was meant to be placed at the second position where it could attack with Reach.
Aside from that, Grim Bonewhip also has both the Rust at level 3 and Swiftness at level 5. Two support abilities that will reduce the armor of the opponent team, while boosting the speed of the allied team, and will remain active as long as this card remains in the battle. For its last ability, Grim Bonewhip has the Execute ability that will allow it to perform a second attack if its first attack landed and the opponent only has 2 or less health.
For its Bloodline, it was a Dwarf, so while it is a Death element unit, we can use the Fire Archon Fithe Bladestone to summon this card, not to mention, dual element Archons with Death element attribute such as Cryptic and Lorkus.
Archon Synergies
In modern format, there are currently 11 Archons that can summon Grim Bonewhip coming from Death, Fire, Water and Dragon elements. One of which shares the same bloodline with it, and will benefit from it's Bloodline Ability. But aside from that, I can see other Archons to work well with it when used correctly.
- Fithe Bladestone

While Fithe Bladestone, is a Fire element Archon, it can still summon the card since the share the same bloodline, and through its Bloodline Dominion abilities, it also gain the Void ability that reduces magic damage by half. With that the case, you can also summon Dwarf units from other elements, where in some will play as very strong tank such as Bera Dallin, Frimbardun Fighter and Grimbardun Smith.

- Cryptic

By using Cryptic, the opponent team will lose -1 speed, and your team will have +15% chance to evade enemy attack because of the Blind ability, and that additional speed given by Grim Bonewhip will just make it more difficult for the opponent to hit your tank, Specially, if it was units that already excel in speed, such as Commander Slade and Giant Alpine Skink.

- Lorkus

When it comes to Lorkus, I also think think that it will be worth using Grim Bonewhip to give your team some additional speed, but that Rust may to render your opponent units defenseless. Can also be a decent alternative to Vicious Giraffe as a secondary tank or when Odd Ones Out is an active ruleset.

Battle Showcase
Battle 1:

With that double Swiftness from Ujurak Elder and Grim Bonewhip, both Venka the Vile Giant Alpine Skink has now become faster to Commander Slade, while at the same time, giving it Expose has enabled it to removed its Shield ability. Along the battle, Grim Bonewhip was also able to do multiple Execute, which help not only to inflict more damage to the opponent but also apply the debuffs on the opponents.

Battle 2:

This time, I give Grim Bonewhip the Ambush ability so it was able to inflict damage before the first round starts, and when round 1 starts, it hit the opponent's Halfling Refugee with its initial attack and Execute attack, which seals the fate of the card, while the Quilliun Legionary, without its armor has become lesser of a threat despite it having Thorns

Closing
But most of all, the main reason why I use Grim Bonewhip whenever I can is because of the 20% bonus it gives in every battle that I win. As of now, I don't have any reason to trade this card, unless I get another version of it with a lower mint number or a Black Foil Arcane, and this helps me fill some of the CP that I burned out for Glint though I still need more to be once again eligible to some tournaments. That is why I was hoping that it will not be the last Shiny card that I will get with the 52 draws remaining.

Thank you, and see you on the next post!
