Last Season Was Tough

The first Splinterlands ranked season of 2026 has recently concluded, and to be honest, last season was incredibly tough. Even though I was able to reach Champion II quite early, I still ended up in Champion III at the end of the season. It's not really due to other players getting stronger, though I think they are now spending more to rent cards. It's more about the liquidity bots having access to the max level reward cards and using them more often, making casual players like me at a disadvantage. I guess that's the reason why others are stepping up their deck by renting cards, even if they have to spend more.
Anyway, since the new season has just started, I want to share with you how I performed last season, as well as the current progress of my reward cards.
Modern Format Season 87 Splinterlands Report
Since last season was a lot tougher, I was not able to secure my position in the leaderboard and missed the Glint reward, but it was not really that bad since I was able to reach Champion II and claimed the league advancement reward for that, and since I dropped to Champion III, I would reset to Diamond II and would have the chance to claim Diamond I advancement rewards, which I had just claimed earlier today. It does not give me many cards, but I appreciate the 14 energy and 5 Fortune entry that will allow me to play more matches and increase my odds at winning Fortune Draw.
Speaking of Fortune Draw, one also took place after the season ended, and unfortunately, I once again didn't win any prize. Well, there were still 41 draws remaining, so there's still a lot of hope that I will get some of the prize.

For modern ranked season 87, I have played fewer battles compared to the previous season, and compared to last season, my win rate has dropped from 51.75% to 49.53%, maybe because I lost my hold of Nidhoggr in my deck. As a result, my Glint and SPS earnings have also decreased slightly. I have played all my brawls last season, but that did not really contribute to how much SPS I earned last season, though the merits help me in purchasing some Gladius packs.

The total SPS that I won last season was a lot lower than the SPS I get on the season prior to it, about 560 SPS to be more precise, but there are fewer tournaments that I can play during this season. And I no longer having Nidhoggr in my team might also have decreased my win rate.
And with that, I have earned a total of 4,138.746 SPS and 200 DEC or about 34.82 $ combined at its current price.

And with me participating in all the brawls, I earned a total of 16,006 merits this season. On the other hand, my Fortune Entry was maybe one of the lowest that I had since fortune draw has started, so I do not really expect to win any cards last season.

When it comes to my Glint earnings, there was not really that much difference with what I earned last season compared to the season prior to it, aside from the leaderboard rewards that I lost. Still, my glint earnings were still above 500k.

When it comes to my rental cost, my total expenses this season were 32,216.016 DEC or about $ 20.1. And if we deduct it from my SPS earnings, I will be left with around $14.72 in earnings, which 2$ lower than what I earned last season.
CA Reward and Extra set Progress
Once again, using the site splinterhub.com, we now have an easier way to monitor the progress of our CA reward cards, though this does not include the Extra set, so that will be manually monitored. And for this season, my common cards jumped from 39% to 41% completion, my rare collection jumped from 35% to 36%, and my epic collection remains at 11%, as well as my Legendary collection that stayed at 2% completion.
As for my Extra collection, I now combined my Shadowcomb Duskrose to level 3 and Busy Beaver at level 2, but still 5 BCX short for my Longshot to reach level 3.

And that was it for this season's recap. I'm having more difficulty competing in higher leagues right now, but as soon as I level up more of my reward cards and adjust to the liquidity bots, I will be able to progress more in rating. Just waiting to empty my energy at the moment so that I can use my glint to buy more chests to get more energy and cards.
