With my last Social Media post, I talk about 2 of the major updates that will be coming to Splinterlands with the March 18th maintenance such as the new voucher promo card and the card rentals becoming season only but one major update that will also be coming after this maintenance was the release of Land 1.75 which will bring new resources and further add to the utility of the land.

And so, for this week's Community Engagement Challenge, I will take a look on what #SplinterlandsLand 1.75 will bring to the game.

The Next Evolution On Land Gameplay

As of the writing of this post, Land is currently at version 1.5 wherein players can use their cards to work on their land to produce grains or earn SPS while collecting the the research tokens to unravel the Secrets of Praetoria but on March 18, the land gameplay will have a big update with new resources which will turn worksites to be Terrain-dependent. This means that resources can only be gathered on a specific type of worksite. This resources are:

⚡️ Wood

Can be produced through logging Camp buildings and used as a fuel source for resource refining or to create Planks in a Sawmill building for use in building construction and maintenance in the future land updates. This type of resource can only be produced through Swamp, Forest, Tundra and Jungle.

⚡️ Stone

Stones are produced by Quarry buildings that can be find on Desert, Canyon, Hills and used to refine into Elemental Stones which are needed for building construction and maintenance in future land updates.

⚡️ Iron

The last type of resource to be added in land 1.75 was the ores and can be produced through Mountain, Badlands, Caldera. Ores can be smelted into metal bars in a Foundry building which can then be used in building construction and maintenance in future land updates.

As for the grains, the update will make them to only be produced on Plains, River, Bog, Lake At the same time, lands that are currently used to produced grains will be auto- converted to the appropriate worksite based on the land terrain upon the first harvest so to ensure that no plot or resources will go to waste.

Land Production Rates

While the production of Grain remains to be unchanged, the new resources that will be added to the land will have different production per hour. The current rates were:

    Grain – 0.02 (unchanged)
    Wood – 0.005
    Stone – 0.002
    Iron – 0.0005

Because the production rates for the new resources were lower than the Grain, other resources will be more scarce in supply and will have more value for the landowners in the future iteration of the game where they can be used to make items and spells.

At the same time, the consumption rates required to generate SPS and Research tokens will match the production rates of the new resources, meaning that when harvesting SPS or Research:

Every 1 base Production Point spent per hour toward production will consume
    0.005 Wood
    0.002 Stone
    0.0005 Iron

How Am I Preparing For Land?

image.png

As of the moment, I do not say that I have been preparing for the land 1.75 release as I am still using most of my cards in playing modern ranked battle but in a few months, Conclave Arcana will be released and all my CL cards will retire on modern but since I do not want to bot my account, the other choice that I have will be to work them on land so I'm starting to look on good land deals whenever I can. Currently, I have 2 Land in my possession.

Season rentals will also be a thing so if I find cheap season rentals with lots of PP, I may also be consider to rent some cards to work on land. Of course, I can not just use cards blindly. Each card, defending on their element can give a positive or negative boost on the production of each land and for that, I will refer on the chart below when placing cards on land.

Closing

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this article. I hope I was able to provide valuable information and impart some ideas that can help you decide your next steps. While I do not have much preparation for land, I have no plans of selling them, neither my card assets that will retire of modern.

Whether you prefer the playing ranked battles, the calmness and idleness of building your digital real estate, or just the fun of collecting these fancy images of collectible cards, I am hopeful that you enjoy your time here in Praetoria!

Thank you and see you on the next post!
