Introducing Archmage Yabanius: A Promo Card Featuring Yabapmatt

Archmage Yabanius—a master of the Wizards’ Council, betrayed by Portia Nyr when she opened the rifts under the guise of progress. Cast into exile, Yabanius descended into the Deep in search of a way to stop the chaos she unleashed. Among warped ley lines and daedok horrors, he found a hidden fortress beneath Mount Praetorous, where an ancient rift pulsed with the gaze of a dark god.

There, alongside Aggroedius Lightbringer—one of the few remaining loyal mages—they held the rift at bay for five years. Spell by spell, rune by rune, Yabanius refused to let the Splinterlands fall. When the final seal was cast, Aggroedius vanished... and the darkness held. Yabanius rose from the Deep changed, not defeated. The war isn’t over. And Portia has no idea what’s coming.

Archmage Yabanius is another promo card that comes with the release of Conclave Arcana but this is one of the promo card that is based on a real person and that person is none other than @yabapmatt, the Co-founder of Splinterlands. The creation of this card was also to honor the SPS DAO Proposal #136 that were previously supported by the community as well as timed it for the upcoming 7^th year anniversary of the game. Unlike other promo cards, Archmage Yabanius as long as you purchased any of the Conclave Arcana pack types aside from the starter pack, you have a chance of owning this card.

How was this possible?

This promo cards were already minted and will be in the same account that will hold all the Arcane Cards with the same distribution mechanism on packs. This means that even when packs were burned, the promo card will not be affected and instead, the chance of acquiring one will just increase the more packs were opened or burned. Of course, the odds of aquiring it also increases the more packs that you purchase and its type(Standard, Alchemy, Legendary). Archmage Yabanius is available in all foil types with the following copies.

Archmage Yabanius may not be neither the strongest archery unit or the beefiest card in terms of health but its speed is top notch, allowing it to attack faster and has a higher chance of dodging both melee and range attacks. At the same time, it has Camouflage that allows it to hide itself from direct attacks as long as it was not in the first position. Aside from that, it also has Shatter which destroys all the armor of the target and Stun with the 50% chance to make the opponent skip their turn after a successful attack. Since it has both Water and Dragon element, it has lots of potential in terms of synergy.

But wait, there's more...

Archmage Yabanius also has two of the new abilities from Conclave Arcana which are.

		Empower- While not revealed, this unit and adjacent units gain +1 Power.
		Relentless Strike- Attacks deal true damage. +1 damage if the target has Void, Shield, or Forcefield.

So even when it only has 3 archery damage, with the effect of Empower, not only it gains additional damage but will also increase the damage of its adjacent units by 1 and with Relentless Strike the damage it can inflict on units with Void, Shield or Forcefield will be increased by 1.
