I End The Season In Leaderboard Again

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands every day!
The third season of the year has just ended, not too long ago, and many are looking forward to this season, me included, because Survival mode is finally back, along with the many changes that make the mode more competitive, while encouraging more player participation. I have tried to play a few matches in Survival, and so far, I haven't won a single match, so as a result, some of my cards are in cooldown, which is supposed not to matter that much. But since I also need to wait for my Archon's cooldown period to be done, I have to pause playing for now.
Anyway, as the new season has just started, I want to share with you how I performed last season, as well as the current progress of my reward cards.

Modern Format Season 89 Splinterlands Report
Once again, I was able to make it in the Champion leaderboard, receiving another 50k Glint from the leaderboard rewards. So far, it was my second leaderboard streak since the year started, though I think that the following seasons will prove to be more difficult and way tougher. After all, the Escalation general sale will just be in a few days, which means that Escalation packs can be opened and used in the battles. So, unless I add some of the new cards to my deck, aiming for the leaderboard will become more difficult. But enough thinking of that. For now, I am just glad that I still manage to be in rank 92 of the Champion leaderboard.

| Statistic | ![]() Modern Ranked Diamond |
|---|---|
| Leaderboard Rank | 92- Champion III |
| Rating | 3,980 |
| Total Battles | 396 |
| Total Wins | 197 |
| Win Rate | 49.75% |
| Longest Streak | 8 |
| Leaderboard Reward |
For modern ranked season 89, I have played fewer battles than the season prior to it, and compared to that season, my win rate has dropped from 50.78% to 49.75%. As a result, my Glint and SPS earnings have also reduced slightly. I also failed to play all my brawls last season, but that did not really contribute to how much SPS I earned last season, though with fewer Merits, there were fewer Gladius packs that I can buy.
| Staking Rewards | 29.082 SPS |
|---|---|
| Ranked Rewards | 3,383.645 SPS |
| Brawl Rewards | 60.310 SPS |
| Tournament Prize | 659.087 SPS 100 DEC |
| Total | 4,132.124 SPS 100 DEC |
The total SPS that I won last season was a little lower than the SPS I get on the season prior to it, about 360.323 SPS to be more precise, and this is because I just didn't have much time to play as many games last season, and maybe this season too, due to some outside priorities.
And with that, I have earned a total of 4,132.124 SPS and 100 DEC or about 24.64 $ combined at its current price.
| MERITS Brawl prizes | |
|---|---|
| VOUCHER | 4.363 |
| Fortune Entry | 444 |
And with me participating in only two brawls, I earned a total of 10,993 merits this season. On the other hand, my Fortune Entry was higher compared to the season prior to it, but still was not that high. Maybe getting more loot from the chest will allow me to have more fortune entries this week, but that will only matter if I win premium cards.
| Glint Ranked | |
|---|---|
| Glint Season | |
| Reward | |
| Total Glint Earned |
When it comes to my Glint earnings, there was not really that much difference with what I earned last season compared to the season prior to it, aside from the leaderboard rewards that I lost, but it was definitely on the lower side. Still, my total glint earnings were still above 500k.
| SPS Rental | 5,222 DEC |
|---|---|
| Card Rental | 27,355.02 DEC |
| Tournament Fees | 1,600 DEC |
| Fortune Pass | 250 DEC |
| Total Cost | 32,987.02 DEC |
| Glint Purchase |
When it comes to my rental cost, my total expenses this season were 32,987.02 DEC or about $ 18.73. A little higher in terms of token amount, but was lower when it comes to the token value if we compare it to the season prior to it. It was a little higher last season due to my SPS rentals not being filled, so I have to increased my rental bids to .002. And if we deduct it from my SPS earnings, I will be left with around $5.91 in earnings, which is comparatively low compared to the previous season, but it was mainly due to the price of the token tanking. Still, what's important is that I am not yet in the negative cause that will mean that continuing to play the game is unsustainable.

CA Reward and Extra set Progress
Once again, using the site splinterhub.com, we now have an easier way to monitor the progress of our CA reward cards, though this does not include the Extra set, so that will be manually monitored. And for this season, I finally completed 50% of my common cards from the previous 41%, with all of my common cards at level 7, but going from level 7 to 8 will now be incredibly tougher with the amount of cards needed to reach the next level. My rare collection on the other hand also jumped from 35% to 44%, and my epic collection slightly increased to 15%, and now has all the epic cards, though my Legendary collection stayed at 2% completion, meaning I haven't gotten any legendary rewards from at least 4 straight seasons.

As for my Extra collection, it has not really moved much, as they proved to be incredibly difficult to get. I watched a video from aftersound that says that still 90% of the jackpot cards remain in the pool, only to prove how difficult it is to acquire.

Closing
And that was it for this season's recap. With the upcoming release of Escalation, I guess I will have to say goodbye on the Champion leaderboard. Maybe it will be better for me if I just stay in the diamond league, so I do not need to spend more DEC to rent more cards.
Thank you for reading my post, and see you on the next one!

Thanks for the support!
Greetings,
Congrats on another leaderboard finish, especially with the win rate and SPS earnings! Being rank 92 in Champion is no small feat. 🏆
Peace
Thanks! Yeah, placing in leaderboard was hard, specially since I'm missing most of the meta cards.
It is true
Have a great day

Wow, you are using Beaker's EoS tool also. Very nice layout and presentation of your season results!
Well, I guess when you are renting, then of course it would not make sense to continue playing if your only motivation is to turn a profit. But there are also assets gained outside of the SPS earned that contribute to a positive bottom line.
There's also the benefit of entertainment value, which I don't think many people value into account. There are much more efficient ways to make money, so I see this game more as a hobby that lets me reinvest my winnings into a bigger collection. I've never thought of Splinterlands as a way for me to make money because I'm not really interested in taking profits, just accumulating more assets to enjoy in the heat of battle!
