Embracing the Champion League

2026_SPL_01.png

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands every day!

The Winterfest season has finally ended, with the start of the new year. Unfortunately, I did not receive any gift boxes, but I do not feel that bitter about that, since the reason I play the game is because I enjoy it, and I like the current direction that the game is going in. Whether I received a gift or not is just a bonus.

Anyway, since the season has just ended, I want to share with you how I performed last season, and unlike my previous decision of not pursuing the Champion Leaderboard last season, I decided to just embrace it for now.

Modern Format Season 86 Splinterlands Report

For a couple of seasons, I had failed to reach enough ratings to make it into the Champion leaderboard. There is a season where I had my chance, but decided not to pursue it, since that also means that I would need to stay at Champion II, and if I do that, I will drop into Diamond I after the season reset and miss the season advancement chest, which, if we add the total value together, will be about 58,500 Glint, which is more than what I could get if I fell anywhere within top 75-100 of the Champion leaderboard. However, last season, I decided to compete in the Leaderboard after I got a Nidhogrr delegation from Lorkus in their last Tournament, which alone has significantly improved my deck.

This is after the Archon got a rework, where its Force Reduction debilitation was removed, making it a really powerful force during high mana cap battles. As I enjoyed using it to own my opponents, before I knew it, I was already in 91st place on the Champion leaderboard.

And the might of Nidhogrr continues to this season, as I already reached Champion II rating, only 2 days into the season.

Match Report

Modern Ranked Diamond
Leaderboard Rank91- Champion II
Rating4,140
Total Battles456
Total Wins236
Win Rate51.75%
Longest Streak7
Leaderboard Reward 50,000

For modern ranked season 86, I have played more battles compared to the previous season, and compared to last season, my win rate has jumped to 51.75%, by adding just one archon in my deck. As a result, my Glint and SPS earnings have also increased slightly and help compensate for the advancement chest that I missed. Unfortunately, I missed another brawl again this season due to holiday events, but now that they are done, I think I can now focus more on playing in brawls.

SPS Earnings
Staking Rewards 28.708 SPS
Ranked Rewards 3,941.266 SPS
Brawl Rewards 61.292 SPS
Tournament Prize 637.9 SPS
DEC.png 100 DEC + Nidhoggr Delegation
Total 4,669.166 SPS

The total SPS that I won last season was not that much above the SPS I get on the season prior to it, but there are fewer tournaments that I can play during this season. And if you add the rental cost of Nidhogrr which is currently rented for 6,000 DEC per season, then it was already a huge win.

And with that, I have earned a total of 4,669.166 SPS or about 33.28 $ at its current price.

MERITS Brawl prizes 11,800
VOUCHER 4.032
Fortune Entryfortune ticcket.png 651

And with me missing a brawl cycle, the Merits that I get are also lessened. On the other hand, my Fortune Entry was higher compared to last season, but still had fail to win any of the premium cards in the fortune draw.

Glint Ranked 287,271
Glint Season 228,167
Reward 50,000
Total Glint Earned 565,438

When it comes to my Glint earnings, I'm finally back to earning more than 500k Glint per season, even without the leaderboard rewards, which is great because I was able to afford buying a batch of ultimate chests.

Fortune PassDEC.png 250 DEC
Total CostDEC.png 27,561.96 DEC
Glint Purchase 575,967

When it comes to my rental cost, my total expenses this season was 27,561.96 DEC or about $ 16.75. And if we deduct it from my SPS earnings, I will be left with around $16.53 in earnings, which 50% more of what I earned compared to last season.

CA Reward and Extra set Progress

Once again, using the site splinterhub.com, we now have an easier way to monitor the progress of our CA reward cards, though this does not include the Extra set, so that will be manually monitored. And for this season, my common cards jumped from 35% to 39% completion, my rare collection jumped from 31% to 35%, and my epic collection jumped from 7% to 11%. My Legendary collection has stayed at 2% completion.

As for my Extra collection, I now have more than enough copies to have my Shadowcomb Duskrose and Busy Beaver at level 2, 5 BCX short for my Longshot to reach level 3.

Closing

And that was it for this season's recap. I'm really enjoying playing in Champion now, using the reworked Nidhoggr, and I bet that all the investors who are involved in the creation are now happy with the current Archon. Before, it was just an Archon used for a niche ruleset, but now, it becomes part of the meta.
