Drink Moderately

It's not as if I've been hiding it or something but I believe I need to make this clear before I go further with today's topic so let me say it now. I was a drinker of alcoholic beverages since I was 18 and do not see myself to stop drinking anytime soon. Though, one thing I could say is that right now, the times I drink have significantly reduced ever since the Covid pandemic hit which reduced the amount of social gatherings people can go to which for me just continues to this day as I try to focus more on my health and career.

Indeed, alcohol have negative effects to people such as drowsiness and nausea when they consume to much alcohol over a short period of time and they will have difficulties to think straight which can potentially result to them harming not only themselves but also the people around them while for long term effects, too much alcohol consumption can result in obesity, high blood pressure and liver diseases. Consuming Alcohol was also not free and can also hurt people financially specially when a person has developed an alcohol dependence which is similar to drug addiction. That said, I do not think that we should treat it the same to drugs.
For one, while drugs also share similar side effects when people gets drunk with alcohol, this side effects will only be felt when a person has consumed a certain amount of alcohol unlike drugs where you can feel the effects at first use. My point is that it can take multiple drinks before a person gets drunk while it only takes once for a person to get high with drugs plus it also has chemicals on it which will make people addicted so it was almost impossible for people to stop their drug addiction without undergoing therapy as it can cause withdrawal symptoms for the drug addict. On the other hand, it will take continuous consumption of alcohol over a long time for people to have alcohol dependence and to make it of this predicament, slowly reducing alcohol intake over time will remove once dependence on alcohol and can barely have any withdrawal symptoms. I also think that for one person to have alcohol dependence, one must already be undergoing some kind of stress or mental heath issue beforehand that factors why a person becomes obsessed with alcohol but when it comes to drugs, one might be a normal person that does not suffer from any mental health issues but just happens to be curious about the effects to take a take drugs and becomes an addict.
Also, its not as if alcohol only has negative effects. On cold countries, people use alcohol to warm their bodies including children and alcoholic beverage such as wines that are rich in antioxidants and helps to regulate blood sugar when drink in regulation. Many dishes also uses alcoholic beverages to improve their taste. There are also many religions that uses alcohol as part of their tradition practices. But when it comes to the main reason why people drink alcohol was to socialize with other people. I for one were able to build some of my connections in the middle of a drink.
Should Alcohol Be Banned?

Since I am an alcohol drinker, you might think that I am biased to this but I believed that does not make big of an impact to better the society as we have right now. Instead, it will just push people who drinks alcohol to do it in their own. After all, the process of making alcohol was very simple. You just need to ferment some grapes, potatoes or other types of plants with sugar on a container to make an alcohol or are we also going to ban them to make sure alcohols cannot be made? How about rice that can be used to make rice wine and was also a staple food for many countries? At least with companies producing alcohol, government can get tax which can be used for their projects. What I think that needs to be done is to increase the tax for alcoholic beverages that makes it quite hard for people to consume them in large quantities but at the same time, cheap enough for people to think that it is not worth the effort to make alcohol by themselves so that alcohol drinkers can get their drinks but will less likely go over their capacities.
Aside, why does the blame when people gets drunk and ended up making mistake blame on the alcohol? Are we also blaming cars for when people gets careless on road or hit another person? Indeed, the alcohol have this negative effects on them but the person that drinks it have the full awareness of this effects before he drinks and is solely responsible for the consequences of his actions so my advice was to drink moderately and don't you worry, I took those images quite a while ago so I haven't drink a single sip of alcohol right now although I'm a little sleep deprived.

Everything has their advantages and disadvantages. So does alcohol too. But when we take too much of it it becomes harmful to our existence. Glad you are getting rid of it gradually because of your health.
yeah.. anything can be harmful to people when it was abused.
Alcohol probably has its advantages, but we all know that the side effects of alcohol is very crazy and has a bad effect on man.
And so people that are already addicted to it will have to take extra care for themselves so that they don't kill themselves.
It's cool that you are finding your way out of drinking
imo most of the effects of alcohol on people can be prevented when they drink in moderation and most people do not get addicted to alcohol and kill themselves because of it unless they have underlying mental health condition or facing difficult problems.
This is true
