Conclave Arcana Fire Rewards

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

It's the end of the season, and the end of week 2 for the CA rewards fortune draw. Well, I wrote this post a little earlier before the season ends, so I do not have an idea whether I will win another cool reward or feel the same salt like many others that did not get anything, but regardless, good luck to everyone. I was also looking forward to the end of season to finally get my Glint rewards so I can finally get loose in buying chests in the Glint shop and make my rewards a little stronger.
Anyway, the topic for this post was to take a look at the new Conclave Arcana Fire Rewards, which is made of 2 commons, 2 rares, 1 epic, and 2 legendary units.

Conclave Arcana Fire Reward Cards
The Conclave Arcana Fire rewards have been spread out among different bloodlines, and surprisingly, there are no Dwarf units among the rewards, which can synergize to Fithe Bladestone as it was currently the only Fire CA Archon available. Another thing that is quite curious to see is that among the fire rewards, there is only 1 unit with a melee attack, and it wasn't even meant to be a tank unit, while both range and magic have 3 units each. Also, among the three new abilities that the team has introduced, one of them can only be currently available on one of the CA Fire rewards.
Magmaforged

Magmaforged is a range fire unit with the Elemental bloodline. For only 3 mana, it seems to be quite an amazing card with 2 range attack, 6 health, and 7 speed, and is one of the fastest range unit in modern, while also equiped with Return Fire that will inflict damage to the range unit that hits this card and Backfire that will inflict damage when an attacker misses an attack towards this card. Now it only needs the Flying ability from the archon Risqruel Drath along with that +1 speed and maybe even give it the Taunt and Redemption ability for your opponent to target this card and have those misses filled up more damage, unless it was a magic attack or the opponent has Eternal Tofu on the other side. But what's really interesting is its Pinpoint ability that gives True Strike on sneak units, making it a must-have for Super Sneak ruleset.

Pinpoint - Allied sneak attacks can not miss.
Cullborn Revenant

On the other hand, Cullborn Revenant was a fire magic unit with the Undead bloodline. With a 5 mana cost, it was also quite a fast unit with 5 speed, and while it only has 5 health, it's been compensated for by having 3 armor, not to mention the 3 magic damage that it can throw through the first non-melee unit that is not in the first position due to its Snipe ability and seems to make a good second unit to partner with Kelan Gaines. At its max level, it also gains the Spite ability, which guarantees a 100% chance to counterattack when it is defeated, and since it was a magic unit, its attack is almost guaranteed to hit most of its opponents.
Grove Doomblade

Now, we're moving with the rare units, starting with Grove Doomblade, which is the only fire unit with a melee attack and belongs to the Elf Bloodline. It has a 9 mana cost, which is quite huge, but that was justified by its whopping 7 damage for a Sneak unit that can easily melt down the backline's health, then match it with Ambush ability, and it gets to attack the opponent even before the first round starts. And then, when we used it along with Kaylia Silverleaf, it will also gain the Execute ability that increases its chance to do more damage. Might as well leave the opponent stunned if they stayed alive, or if they are units with Taunt, its Fury ability will inflict twice its original damage on it. The only problem is that it is a very slow unit, so partnering it with Magmaforged might be the key to using this card.
Withered Old Sage

Withered Old Sage has quite similar stats to Cullborn Revenant aside from its mana cap being one higher and speed 1 lower than it for a fire element magic unit with the Drakoshan bloodline. It also has the Spite for 100% magic retaliation, but this time, it can do it twice, as it also has the Resurgence that allows it to resurrect with full health. Then it gains the Void ability at level 2 that halves the magic damage it receives. Being a Drakoshan, it gains an additional speed when used along with the archon Kravorn Skarn as part of its bloodline Dominion, but I could also see it working well with Shen Xiao by giving it the Poison Burst ability.
Voss

For the only Epic fire reward, we have the magic unit Voss, which belongs to the Avian bloodline. For only 4 mana, it has 6 health, 3 speed, and 3 damage, making it quite a good card to use for low mana and Little League matches. Aside from that, it has both the Void ability that reduces magic damage as well as the Magic Reflect ability that returns magic attack towards the opponent, making it a good card to use during Wands Out ruleset. But with the Bloodline Tribute ability that is used to give stats boost on all allied units with the same bloodline, it has also given quite a hint that we will see an Archon with Avian bloodline, because there are currently no fire unit with the Avian bloodline and you can only use 3 Avian units at most when using a Dragon or a Dual element Archon that can summon fire units, meaning to really maximize the ability of this card, there must be an Avian Archon coming to summon all this Avian units that was spread out through different elements.
Nyasha Mbalika

Looking at stats alone, I'm not that impressed with Nyasha Mbalika, being a range unit with only 3 damage, although it is quite fast with 5 speed, and was quite tanky for having 1 armor and 7 health. That is because many ranged unit loses their ability to attack once they go in the first position. That said, it was of the Ulund bloodline, so you can use it along with the archon Bella Ratajowlski and gain the Deflect and Shield ability from it. Then partner that with its Return Fire and it can pose a real problem for the opponent during the Going the Distance ruleset, while Opportunity and Stun will not only target the opponent with the lowest health, but also make them unable to attack, along with its Inspire ability that will increase the attack of melee units by +1 as long as it remains at play. And just like Magmaforged, Risqruel Drath was also a good option for this card.
Azhar Ibn Sulaim

And now, we finally go through the last card Azhar Ibn Sulaim, another ranged card, but this time, I'm quite shocked looking through its stats, with a maximum of 8 speed that makes it the fastest range by far with both Backfire that will return damage when the opponent miss an attack to this card and Phase that allows it to dodge magic attacks and if you use it along with Risqruel Drath, it will make quite a difficult unit to land a hit as it will be the target of most attacks due to it having the Taunt ability, while also has the Shield Ward ability that gives Shield to the unit that is first to it. Now even magic units will have difficulty trying to hit this card, and for every miss, they will receive damage instead.

Closing
And that was it for my early assessment of the Conclave Arcana Fire rewards. It will take a long time for me to complete this set, and with the upcoming Archons as well as the mini-set, the card dynamics are likely to change, but my overall impressions of the card were highly positive.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
