Conclave Arcana Death Rewards

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

Happy New Year to all battle mages of Praetoria! It's now 2026, the year of the horse, which signifies movement, freedom, and forward momentum, so it could be a good year for Splinterlands. After all, they did a lot of things last year that leave me still in disbelief, and if they can continue with that pace of delivering things as well as with good marketing, the game may be able to see a new wave of players that will come into the game.
Anyway, with my first official Splinterlands post for this year, I want to take a look at the Conclave Arcana Death Rewards, and see how each of the cards will fare in battles.

Conclave Arcana Death Reward Cards
The Conclave Arcana Death rewards have been spread out among different bloodlines, but none of them shares the same Bloodline with Razi Clanktrap, which is currently the only Death Archon from Conclave Arcana. That said, they had an interesting set of abilities that they can use to have their own spot in battles.
Grim Bonewhip

Grim Bonewhip is a melee death unit with the Dwarf bloodline. For 5 mana, it has a decent amount of speed and damage, but not enough health to make it a suitable tank. But that doesn't matter because it has the Reach ability that allows it to attack at the second position, along with Execute that allows the card to attack after a successful attack, and the target has two or less health. Aside from that, it also has support abilities such as Rust that reduce the armor of all opponent units and Swiftness that increases the speed of all ally units, so long as this card remains in battle.
Depending on the situation, this could be a good alternative for Endless Giraffe when used along with the fire Archon Fifthe Bladestone as it gains the Void ability through Bloodline Dominion that reduces magic damage.
Thornmaw Berserker

On the other hand, Thornmaw Berserker was another melee card with 7 mana, which can be used either as a tank if you know you are against magic units due to its Magic Reflect that return a portion of the damage it receives from the attacker or be placed anywhere in your lineup, since it has the Charge ability that lets it attack from any position. Aside from that, it has the Life Leech ability that increases the health of this card by 50% of the damage it dealt to the target, as well as Final Rest, which is a very powerful ability that can prevent abilities that trigger after death from activating, such as Bloodline Tribute and Poison Burst.
Since it already has Charge, it will not benefit from the Bloodline Skill of Elowen Sylphie, but through tactics, it can be given the Trample ability and be able to make a low cost Venka the Vile.
Careless Badger

Moving on with the rare units, we had Careless Badger, as our first range unit, which is a Mundane Beast unit that costs 3 mana. It has large damage in comparison to its mana, but it has a very low speed and health. But to compensate for that, it has the Scavenger ability, which will increase its health by 1 every time a unit is defeated, and it will also target the units with the least health using its Opportunity ability.
As it stands right now, the only clear use of this card is in little league and low mana battles. Perhaps use it with Razi Clanktrap so that it gains the Close Range ability.
Gravebrand Warlock

Gravebrand Warlock was an 8 mana Canisan unit with 4 magic damage, along with the Execute ability that will allow this card to attack again so long as the target has two or less health, and is also a good support unit with Swiftness that can boost the speed of the entire team. But what makes this a really interesting unit is that it has the Soul Siphon ability, which allows it to self-resurrect with 50% of its max health as many times as it can, so long as there is a non-weary unit among its team. Paired it with Savaketh, and it could self-resurrect infinitely.
So far, I made great use of this card by pairing it up with Lorkus to form a magic team, but as a Canisan unit, it can gain Poison ability when used with Loving the Moo through Bloodline Dominion, and if you want you can also give it the Blast and Magic Reflect ability through tactics.
Joraki Venshiro

For the only Epic Death reward, we have the magic unit Joraki Venshiro, which is a Drakoshan unit with 5 range damage, and with Piercing, any extra damage it inflicts to the target's armor will be inflicted to its health, not to mention, it has Affliction that will prevent the target from healing, while the Blind can act as a great support by increasing the chance to evade melee and range attack by 15%. And with Reckless, every time that it gets damaged by poison or hit by an ally, it will gain +1 damage.
Drakoshan units like Joraki Venshiro gain an extra speed when used with Kravor Skarn, so you might as well use it next with Songale, since it has the Recless ability.
Savaketh

Moving to the legendary units, we have Savaketh, which is a magic unit with a Tideborn Bloodline, so it gains the Inspire ability from the bloodline skill of Captain Frankie. But as I said earlier, it can be a good support for Gravebrand Warlock due to its Invigorate ability that prevents the units from being exhausted, but aside from that, it also has the Redemption ability that will inflict 1 damage to all opponent units when it is defeated.
I also use this card often, along with Lorkus for a magic team, but for those who had it at max level, I often see it used along with Heloise the Hollow to capitalize on its ability.

Invigorate -Allied units cannot be exhausted.
Nullwrought

And finally, we had the melee unit Nullwrought, as our last legendary unit. It has an Elemental Bloodline, meaning it synergizes with Loving the Moo as it can have the Poison ability through Bloodline Dominion and get Blast and Magic Reflect ability through tactics.
For 6 mana, it does not make for a good tank, though it can work well as a back-line attacker with its Sneak ability that can inflict up to 5 damage per round. And as for its support ability, it has Affliction that prevents the target from being healed and Demoralize that reduces the melee damage of all opponent units. It's just that having the Bloodline Tribute ability makes you want this card to be in a position where it will be defeated immediately so that its effect could be triggered.

Closing
And that was it for my early assessment of the Conclave Arcana Death rewards. Gradually, I was able to upgrade these cards to levels where I can already use some of them competitively in battle within the league where I play, and I also got a black foil Grim Bonewhip that is helping me increase my ranked rewards by 20% whenever I win but it's still far before I can play them all at max level and use them at their full potential.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
