Nevertheless, once a #Nostr app user has a Lightning Wallet properly set up, then they can receive zaps instantly (no 7-day waiting period) and can withdraw or zap with them anytime. 🤔😎🤓😅

That's great, and I'd love to be able to get it to work. I wish the payments could be sent directly to my Hive wallet. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I haven't studied yet if the v4v Lightning Wallet can be directly used to receive #Nostr zaps. 🤔🤯 I think that the best way to determine it is to test it by either asking a friend on Nostr to send you a small amount of zap (where you can ask people on Hive that have a Nostr account such as @crrdlx who you can pay back with HIVE or other tokens) or create another Nostr account with a Lightning Wallet already set up (difficult, but you can do this without the help of anyone). 🤯🤯🤓
Anyway, many Nostr apps supports NWC (Nostr Wallet Connect) which is just a protocol that helps connect Nostr apps with Lightning Wallets. 🤔🤓 This website would likely help you easily. 😎😏

I'm not sure I entirely understand what's being asked here, but I think you're wondering if someone on nostr can zap to the v4v wallet. My understanding is this:
-no, zaps are simply sats between two wallets that are linked to a nostr client. The zap just handles the send/receive under the table. Someone on nostr couldn't do that to Hive; there's no zap button on Hive.
-I thought you could send "keepsats" from any lightning network wallet to v4v (not sure what keepsats are exactly, my guess is sats held in escrow by 4v4). But, my test failed using coinos.io and cashu.me to [email protected] It seemed to pick up you and your avatar, but just kept spinning when I hit send. Maybe the QR code would work (though I'm not sure they are persistent). Share your v4v QR and I'll try again that way.
@savvytester wants to know if a V4V wallet can be used as the Lightning Wallet for receiving #Nostr zaps, so that they can help assist @tydynrain in properly setting up an LN wallet for Nostr to start receiving zaps there. 🤯
I think that technically, someone could implement "zap on Hive" for tipping Bitcoin Lightning anywhere (particularly on posts and comments) by creating an app for it (either as a standalone app, or building on top of other platforms such as V4V). 🤓
Anyway, I wonder what would happen if you tried to send sats to
[email protected]
instead of[email protected]
(if you haven't already). 😅!WEIRD !INDEED !HOPE !PIZZA !HUG
If it works, the @sats.v4v.app keeps the sats in the V4V wallet, while the @v4v.app sends them directly to your Hive wallet. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I'll ask @savvytester to put some sats on their V4V wallet to start testing (since they really love testing !INDEED), though with a low amount of HIVE (or HBD) to put there, they might lose a lot in fees, so they might not be able to test it right away. 🤓🤯😅
!WEIRD !HOPE !PIZZA !HUG
That sounds great, and also very appropriate. It uses the lightning network, which is designed to be able to send small amounts of sats. I look forward to hearing how it goes, whenever it is tested. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

@crrdlx tried to send sats from his custodial Lightning Wallet to @savvytester's (also) custodial V4V wallet which is [email protected], but failed. 🤯 His attempt to send sats and his long comment there is appreciated. 🤗

@crrdlx explained on his long comment that "zaps" work only between Lightning Wallets that are linked to #Nostr "accounts". 🤯
At least, he tried to "zap" a "Hive Lightning" wallet (V4V) for @savvytester even if it is unlikely to be successful. 🤗
Well, it makes sense, but it is also makes it more inconvenient for my own purposes. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Perhaps just withdraw the sats on your #Nostr wallet to your own Lightning Node (LN) wallet (which I think some Nostr wallets would easily support) first, then send them to your Hive account (via V4V). 🤓

I don't know if I feel like going through the hassle of making sure that my lightning node is online. I'd also have to pay a fee to open a channel to other nodes. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

What I mean with "your own Lightning Node wallet" is the wallet (even custodial ones such as on V4V) that you will use to spend or convert the sats that you accumulated on your #Nostr wallet. 🤯 Paying a fee is just one-time for a given period of time (such as 30 days), then sending sats between them has a very low fixed fee (down to just 1 sat per transaction). 🤓

I can think of the following as a quick (and likely incomplete) summary of the advantages regarding earnings on Hive and on #Nostr. 🤓
Hive 🐝
Nostr 🐦

That's a nice run down, and it definitely look like Hive wins. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I think that someone who likes a "true coin" that isn't just a token (not necessarily a "Bitcoin maxi") and/or does not like flagging though would still very likely flock to #Nostr though despite the advantages of Hive. 🧘♂️🤓
!INDEED !HOPE !WINEX !HUG
See, that's a curious thing, because a coin is produced directly by the blockchain, while a token is created with certain parameters by an account, so by that definition HIVE and HBD are both coins, not tokens. All the tokens in layer 2 are truly tokens, though. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
!ALIVE

!INDEED
I wonder then why HIVE and HBD are called "tokens" though !INSTEAD of "coins". 🤯 #PeakD, #Ecency, and most popular Hive frontends call them "tokens". 😅
Anyway, I think that a cryptocurrency "coin" in general is something that can't be gone (whether or not it can be sent to the corresponding @null account depending on the blockchain), while "tokens" can be created arbitrarily by its issuer, and can also disappear (such as when someone converts or swaps between HIVE and HBD, where a bit of the tokens are lost for every transaction). 🤯🤯🤓
!WEIRD !INDEED !WINEX !ALIVE
I've been asking myself that question since I got here...lol! I have no clue.
That's a new definition to me, but I understand the perspective. I'm still thinking about it, since HIVE and HBD are inherent aspects of the blockchain, so they never leave either, they just constantly reappear. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

It would be really surprising if something that is supposed to be a token on #HiveEngine exists as a coin !INDEED. 🤯
Anyway, in theory, the majority of Hive Witnesses can agree to make the price of the HIVE token $0.001 each, such that every $1 worth of HBD from Hive author rewards will give an equivalent of 500 HIVE tokens and 500 Hive Power at reward payout time to the author !INDEED. 💸🤯😅
!WEIRD !HOPE !PIZZA !HUG
I think that the reason why your "zap" from #Nostr to @savvytester's V4V wallet failed is because the minimum invoice for the V4V Lightning payments is 250 sats according to an official post . 🤯 While paying an invoice is different from directly sending sats, we could assume that the V4V lightning node has also set the minimum of incoming sats as 250 too. 🤓 Perhaps @tydynrain is also interested in this fact! 😎 !HOPE !INDEED !WEIRD !PIZZA !ALIVE
Hrmmm...OK. If I don't know that it works, I'm not going to ask anyone to waste, and I don't want to waste, sats just to test it. I appreciate the links, those will be very useful. I've got a bit of reading to do it would seem. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I don't think that sats (except the transaction fee which is usually just 1 satoshi) will get "wasted", because if such sats don't get succesfully sent to a target wallet, then it should remain at (or go back quickly to) the sender's wallet. 🤔🤯🤓😅
OK, that's good to know. I'm just used to horror stories of people losing large amounts of crypto assets by sending them to an incorrect address. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Bitcoin Lightning Wallet addresses are only supposed to hold small amounts of sats, as they are designed for paying (and swapping/converting) and not for investing/trading (and "HODLing"). 🤔🧘♂️🤓😏

If you have time, then you can create several different #Nostr "accounts", each with their own Lightning Wallet attached. 🤔😎 That way, you would be able to tell from your experience which one is best for you, then stick with that (while still having the others ready as an alternative). 😎🤓
