The Power to say NO.

Life has shown me"shege", taught me "oba" and left me with the decision of "japa". To say NO, I mean 'NO' was a taboo,an outright sacrilege,an abomination I dare not commit especially to an elderly 'papa', old 'mama',to one uncle 'So' or aunty 'that' even I am supposed to say NO.

Innocently,my ignorance prisoned me in the jail obedience, the 'Kirikiri' of good girl. 'NO' was so costly that I could not afford.Many who used it as advantage to them made me strong unknown to them being that I have seen them for who they are. When they tear themselves asunder and look for means to settle out of pride they find me as last option who never says NO like a follow come 'Mumu'.

Alas,the hurt and pain soon spoke sense to my abandoned sense to take a stand,is not sin to say yes when you are wrong and say NO, when it not you,to say yes take it or NO, I have need of it please.Wow! My confidence arose, when I beheld many times I had died but now I die no more,I choose to live and genuinely I chose Life.

Hence, time, season,chance and change took cause shielding me with strength. This is nothing but the wind of liberation and I so welcomed. Jesus has already died for all,my death for one will be of no used most importantly for the one who never valued my limitations but ever answering Yes.

They pretend not to see that all is not well. Knowing that a 'No'is missing.How did I get to know,I knew when they mock and asked'You no dey ever say No'? Why will I when I was not aware of the power it willed but now I know and I curse the days of unknowning.

Eventually, everything,due to one word with two letters 'NO' made the difference and I walked free from that hole of fear padlocked with slavery opened with the power of saying NO! And in turn, this miracle none expected rather suspected someone might be behind this change or some spirit.Little did they know that saying NO at the appropriate time is so powerful. It is freedom in a good way

Conclusively,using the negating word 'No' even for a child in demand is also a save way training, while it looks mean and wicked at the surface,the moral lesson here is not every request deserves a yes and some a powerful NO. Imagine a child at age 7 asking for daddy to buy him a real gun for protection. What will your response be?
