Man On War In Nigeria: How Sweet Is Serving Your Fathers land?

Forget it Nigeria is blessed, the problem is we ain't just blessed with good leaders yet.

It's no doubt that if you are a citizen of Nigeria despite the rigorous years spent in the university if the Nysc certificate is not acquired your result is as good as useless.

In other words it seems even the NYSC certificate and the one year you spend fighting and risking your life for it is much more important than the years spent in the university.

To crown it all one has to stay jobless for a while after finishing NYSC, yet there are countless graduates all over the states just seeking jobs with no success, most have gone back to acquiring skills just to make a living.
Right now If you don't have connections then you'll just remain stagnant.

The world is not doomed yet and Nigeria isn't either. The people in it are just making things difficult for themselves. Instead of Nigerians traveling outside the country to work for another man in his land, it's better for us to use that money to invest and work on making Nigeria a better country by creating job opportunities for ourselves.

Well here I am serving my fathers land and the moment I walked through that camp gate a thought just lingered in “Is it necessary”? I never got the answer to that question until the Man On War day.

Thousands of Nigerians have served their fathers land one way or the other either through joining the army, fighting a war, going for nysc, joining the navy etc for generations even though my ancestors weren't left out. I ain't the first to serve and I won't be the last, one day I'll be among the ancestors who served their fathers land as well.

I was posted to Ogun state and in reaching camp I made quite some friends from all over the states. Well, I am not really the associated type of girl but I just have this gift of attracting people to come close.

After camping I was posted to my PPA In Owode, the place was another hell hole and I just can't think of spending one year of my life in a place like that, so I decided to move. While moving I saw a colleague who was stranded. Apparently we were posted to the same PPA and she doesn't really like the vibe of the place as well. She's from the north and doesn't know any place around or how to get accommodation for the night.

Well I've lived and grew up in Lagos all my life so I decided to help her out to find her way to the main lagos. We both got to Surulere late at night and I showed her an hotel, she asked where am heading to spend the night, I wanted to go to badagry my family house that night but i"ll be reaching home late maybe 12 mid night,

So she pleaded I spend the night in the hotel room as well. Well I had a second thought, but somehow my instinct had a positive feeling about her,”There's no better truth than your guts”, so I went with the idea.

Now the problem that was ringing through my head was how to get some cash to work my transfer out of Owode. The thought has been eating deep.

That night while at the hotel She had a call. It was her dad. They were just talking, and she told her dad how I helped her out. Her dad requested to speak with me. In thanking me he asked me a question “If I liked My PPA” I immediately told him no and he said ok I should forward my details over he will hand it to someone who will be working his daughter transfer to main lagos.

Yep unknowingly I helped the daughter of a very rich man, and that was how I got a free transfer to main Lagos without spending a dime.

Indeed 3 weeks camping was hell, but the joy in it is enjoying the moment and living up to it. Seeing different people all over the world, making friends, finding partners, making connections and let's not forget risking life are all part of the process, and in the long run we all have a story to tell.

☆Till we read again, kudos!
