Mom deserves the best.

After long time, I got an opportunity to buy Mom a bangle of her choice. Her old bangle broke and we took it to a local shop in my native, who said it's wise not to repair them and instead exchange. But then they did not have the size and asked us to order which did not go well with us. I knew Mom had interest to wear one as its a tradition for married women to wear these bangles but she was reluctant to buy a new one - leave it, how many days I will live - that was her response.

I know these small little interests matter a lot for them at this age - why are you not positive ? You should rather live your life to the fullest now. Do what you like, I will buy anything that makes you happy - we are not going to take anything Mom. We have already done a lot for everyone, so don't be conservative now - you deserve a lot.

As I took them for the Doctor consultation, that was the opportunity I did not want to miss because I knew, she won't go solely for just buying these bangles. As Tanishq is a good brand having a showroom on the way to our home, we first went there. When asked, she said, she liked the black bangle that my wife got, about which I wrote on this post and she would take something like that.

How did you see that ? I saw the peakd post that you shared on your whatsapp status - ah ha, now I know Mom is going through my blogs in full details :) Of course I am pretty open about everything and do not need to hide anything from anyone. Unfortunately Tanishq disappointed us having just a small number of designs, and there also Mom was telling, let's go home, we will come another day. But I know, another day does not come easily, especially taking both of them.

So I forced them and took to the same Joyalukkas showroom from where the lady brought her bangles. The reason they like these bangles is that, the gold is molded inside, in these new types of design and they will last for a long time, without doing any damage to their saree, which at times sticks to traditional patterns, where the gold foil remains outside. See I am now understanding the need of women :)

These two gentlemen assisted us taking the measurement and showing all different designs - loved their courtesy.

In the absence of black one, Mom liked these two and wanted to go for the right one only because the price was less - it's hard to change her mentality so I asked - which one you like more, keeping aside the price ? The left one looks better - I got my answer, so let's go for it......

I bought her a solid gold bangle when I did my first job (the one you see first on the inner side) and she keeps telling me that, when I die, you will have to cut this out - But why are making me emotional ? You will live another couple of decades Mom....Enjoy whatever time is left - it will be a memoir not only for both of us but also for my kids.

And now let me tell you a pleasant reality of writing memoirs on this chain - I asked them to give us some discounts showing the post from last time and they were so impressed that, they took my phone and started showing them to everyone. After that they called their higher manager who after seeing the post, gave us a hefty discount on making charge, helping us save 5k - that was huge...They have asked to share this post as well - people love to get appreciated. That is why I keep saying, hive is the best place to build a review platform..

Dad never bought her any Gold but I have ensured to not let her feel that blank by getting her anything she wants. She still teases Dad for that, but he points out to me - it's fun to see their affection for each other.

We went home straight and after enjoying a delicious lunch that the lady prepared they took rest. While going back, Mom forgot about this Gold and it was such a lovely gesture from Dad reminding her that - are you not going to take what you purchased ? We laughed almost for five minutes on that...

So that means your brain is working, huh !! What kind of Dementia you have......Life is all about enjoying these small little things - Time flies but these memoirs remains with us, bringing joy and happiness whenever reminded...
