The God comes out to play colors before us

The color festival is this Friday.

Color festival is one of the most awaited festival for us and before that, we celebrate the Dola Purnima or Dola Yatra festival, when the Lord comes out to play colors and bless us. Primarily, this festival is celebrated to symbolize the love between Lord Krishna and Radha, an eternal love that represents completeness, fulfillment, and abundance. Also Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the greatest Hindu saint who spread the Bhakti movement was born on this occasion. Vrindavan is probably the best place in India to witness the vibrant celebration, you will get nostalgic there. This is celebrated in a very grand way in my native place as well, where many Gods come in a chariot and sit at one place to meet each other and bless the devotes. May be I will have opportunity next year to capture it and share - could not go this year because of the boy's exam.

Since last few years, we have started celebrating this festival in our society. Right now its in celebrated in small scale, but hopefully, we will have much better celebration in coming years.

A chariot is made on which the Lord is placed and carried out by devotees, in a procession going around the society and then kept at the frontage. Then people come and take the blessings, doing worship and putting Gulal or abir (color powders) on the lord.

So this starts the color festival officially, with a much intense version coming on Friday. What I love about our festivals is that they are meant to make our life colorful with divine presence everywhere, bringing mental peace and joy, essential for leading a happy life. You will definitely see some colorful captures from me on Friday, the whole society will come forward and play with colors. Many members prepare lovely food and bring it to share with residents - it's the most enjoyable festival of the year, showcasing togetherness - the true power of a community.

Here is a small video capture to let you feel the celebration :

Great festival of colors, my friend, and I've been saying for a long time that your culture is incredible. Unfortunately, where I live, we don't have a celebration like that of colors, but the truth is that I would love it.

Holi is my favourite festival, and I love this festival very much. The vibrant colours, the joyous laughter, and the spirit of togetherness make it truly special.

Sir.

We don't have color festival here. Our festivals here are usually about street dancing with colorful costumes and big floats parading on the streets. Similarly, they look lively and vibrant. I think Festivals unite people together, it feels like you do something related to your identity as a group. Delicious food is always present at festivals.
