Be Comfortable with who you are

It is hard to elude the fact that the perks that come with fame can be very much enticing to the human eye and well-beingof a person. Who would not like to be celebrated and respected when noticed or given the room when your presence becomes noticeable. Well, to an extent, that is why people chase a lot of clout on the internet just for the purpose of being relevan,t and ye,ah that can be easily found on the internet.

Some people may choose to be loud, make noise, do whatever it takes, all for the presence of fame or that brief moment when it comes. My question is to what end? How long can one keep up with a life that is not one's own or keep up with the performance? The sad part is this may sometimes go on even after the camera is off, and over time, they might forget who they are and what it feels like to be yourself once again. Sometimes, people may mistake this quote of fake it until you make it as their driving force, but it is a recipe for self-loss.

Well, here I come with my theory of what if you just be yourself and find comfort in that. It is not about being lazy or not having ambitions of your own, it is about being okay with the fact that every moment does not have to be a highlight captured with the camera on your phone. It is completely fine to live a normal life and be relaxed in knowing who you are, where you do not owe anybody an explanation for your actions. It is just like the principle of resisting the urge to shalaye, shalaye in local slang for explanation.

There are benefits that come with being comfortable, although it is not well publicized like the glamorous life that comes with fame. One of these benefits is that you get to connect with like-minded people who share similiar opinion or thoughts on certain subjects. You do not have to be super consumed by being who you are not when you are around people who share a common interest with you. This is why the Nigeria chess community is one that I can easily enage with different kinds of people from different background because of our shared interest in chess. It say a lot about how much we love the game, where we can just hang out and play the game of chess for hours with food and drinks, and for that moment just be in=mmensed by what is going on the board. We never have to fake our love for the game, is either you love the game or you do not.

Another benefit of finding comfort in oneself is the appreciation of self growth rather than performance. It is not about how well you perform because trust me you can never be at the top of your game always. Some days will be good and other days will be bad. It is all about appreciating the idea that where you were yesterday is not where you are now. This kind of mindset gives more room for more self growth. It is like what I believe in, I am not in competition with other people rather I am competition with who I was yesterday. Be comfortable with who you are and be kind to yourself.

Choosing authenticity over noise and external approval feels so much more grounding indeed!

Being yourself is the best way to express who you are, rather than faking it for attention which will ultimately get tiring. Be the person you want to see a better version of tomorrow. Thanks for your words, it's inspiring.

For me , I choose to be myself even when others think I should fake it. I remember one thing someone told me, they said I should put up a kinda of font , but thats not me.
I choose to be authentic every time and anyday.

Yes, that's good. Anyone that doesn't like it should go, the true ones will like you regardless.

I don't need all that. Just a nice income to take care of my family. I'm glad you found a good diverse community.
