A Draw for the Club
Yesterday’s game is a reminder that football cannot be predicted. At one moment, you think everything will be all up and rosy, winning so many winning streaks, but then we get a draw from Nottingham Forest. It was a challenging match for us today after coming from a 3-2 victory in the English Football Cup against Chelsea.
From the moment the whistle was blown, you could feel the pressure on the pitch from both sides of the team. We have a pressing backline in the game that stood the test of Nottingham Forest. For the first 10 minutes, it was proof that this one match would be a nail-biter before any other side could get the win. It was not about controlling the game alone or having most of the possession if, in the end, you do not score at least a single goal.

That was the case of this game for both teams on the pitch of the City Ground stadium. There was not a single goal in the match for any of the team and it made the game a product of what we call eye glass draw. Eyeglasses, because when you combine the scoreline of 0 - 0, it gives you the eyeglasses. It did not come as a surprise because Nottingham Forest has been a team that has been oppressing other teams in the Premier League.
Honestly, I think the result was a good one for us considering Man City lost. I am happy with the win of Chelsea and knocking them out. That victory is what kept me alright on that day. It was not a good day for Nigerians because of our loss to Morocco in the semi-final of the African Cup of Nations. My honest opinion about that match, it was a battle of home advantage. It was truly a challenge for my countrymen, the Super Eagles, on and off the pitch. It is not easy to go against the host of the competition, and they sure showed it in the stadium. The stadium was fully packed, and people could not get space in the stadium. I am talking about Nigerian fans, even the social media influencers who went over to attend the match.
Although the match was a draw for Arsenal, we sure gave them the fight and, to some point, a heavy run for their money. We had the possession for about 61% compared to their 39%, which tells you it was Arsenal who was in control. We did not stop there in our attempt to get the win. We gave a number of attempts for the corner of the post in the form of corner kicks. 9 corner kicks and yet we could not convert one. It was like throwing different shots at the wall, hoping one would stick, only this time it was shots.
With the number of fouls committed by my team, Arsenal, it was obvious that we wanted to win by all means, and when we did not get it, it became foul-aggressive for the players. We did not stop there, and what shocks me more is the fact that with 15 shots on target, we still could not get a single goal into the post. This is how dramatic football can be. It is passionate for the guys, but some days are like that.

For me and as a die hard, the result is not so good to me even though City lost their match. It calls for serious concern, because this is the second time another opportunity was presented to arsenal to extend the lead on the table log,but could not grab it.
The first was when City drew against Brighton,we drew against Liverpool, fine Liverpool is a big team, now this. And Arsenal should also be wary of Villa, because if they win today it would be 4 points clear of them, not forgetting Arsenal's next game is home to Man United. So @samostically you can see the reason why I am not happy with the draw.Thank you.
Well 7 points clear, I'd take it. We would beat man united, we always do.
We still extended the lead but just not the way we wanted.
Thanks for stopping by.
