Time not and time to introduce phone to kids

One thing about the world is that it's moving faster than what one would have imagined decades ago and this is because of the advent and the coming of technology into the world.

The advent of this technology has really brought about drastic changes to the life of an individual and the society at large. It's the advent of this technology and technological gadgets that's brought about the jet or computer age in the younger ones of today.

It's this advent of technology that has brought about, communication gadgets such as phone and the computers with various built apps on them, also, these apps has really exposed many to the social world and instead of what we used to have back then as the print media, we know have what's called social media which has reduced the influence of the other kinds of media to the nearest minimum.

Having said much on the advent of technology which has brought about the use of phone and the social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, tiktok ,WhatsApp and the likes, I would like to share my candid opinion about the topic of the day, the topic is really an interesting one and from my own perspective, I would say, I would not support the early expose of kids to using phone and going on the social media.

The reason for this is that, allow the younger ones to having access to phone and social media could spell doom for them, but not even only them, but the general public and this is because, if they are allowed to make use of phone at their tender age, they might not be able to handle the effect and the influence of the social media as they ought to.

Some of those effects and the influence that may pose a threat to them are numerous and if care is not taken, they may not be able to survive those social media effects and influences brought to them by their early access to the use of phones.

The first of the effects is that they may not be able to control their privacy on social media as a result of their young age. This they would do by coming on the social media to divulge all their private lives to the public and by doing so, this may actually bounce back on them and even make them vulnerable just because of their inexperience on how to handle the social media and its taunts. It can even lead to their frustration and depression.

Aside this, allow them make use of phone and have access to the social media can serve as distractions to them. This is because, if they are allowed to have access to making use of use at their tender age, it would not allow them to concentrate or pay rapt attention to what they are supposed to do or engage in. One thing I believe is that, students still in the elementary school and secondary should not be allowed to make use of cell phones so as to avoid distractions fro them. Though, it's their right to owing a phone, but it's expedient to save them from being distracted.

Also, giving them the opportunity to make use of phones at this stage of their lives can lure them to having access to those bad and naughty things on the social media and this can in return ruin them and make them useless if care is not taken. I have seen and heard about a secondary boy who through his use of social media killed his fellow female student for ritual. When arrested, he admitted to the offence and said, he killed the lady for ritual and that, he got to know a cleric on the social media who was into rituals and that he's promised to help him to do same and that the only thing for him is to kill a fellow human and bring her head to him. That's one of the havoc this can cause.

Also, getting addicted to the use of phones or accessing social media at a tender age may disrupt the progress of a kid in life. Even we adults are also victims of this, but as for kids, it would spell doom for them.if care is not taking and this is because, instead of them doing the right thing, they would instead be doing the wrong thing and even waste their time more on phones and the social media and a time wasted can never be recovered.

Aside from this, there's some uncultured content on social media that the kids should not be allowed to access. This content, if allowed to be seen by kids, can corrupt their minds and mindset forever and this might not be good for them. Also, seeing people living large on social media might seem real for them, not knowing that most are fake and in the lieu of that, some of them would be pressured and lured to doing the same which could spell doom and destroy them.

But, one thing is that, even if there's no choice other than for them to use these gadgets at their tender age, the parents should be able able to censor and monitor how it's being used by them, as this would help to curb them from using it wrongly.

Having said and related my points and opinions with others, I would say that, I don't have a specific age for the use of phones or accessing the social media, but what I would suggest is that, a matured mind should only be allowed to use the phone and have access to the I internet and I believe a university student can at least be allowed to do both.
