The wrong in immortalizing the wicked

Greetings!

One thing about we humans is that God Almighty created us in his image according to the Holy Bible and aside from this, all that he created is good.

Although, all that God created is good, but even at that, there's some bad elements in the world, most especially when it comes to humans.

Having talked about this, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt which is all about, “history remembers.”

To me, one thing about the content of the prompt is that people with bad characters should not be eulogized or praised at death.

This is because their deeds are not so good to make the society peaceful and as a result, they should not be celebrated or eulogized as the society is currently doing now.

Some time ago in our neighborhood, there's one man who was so rich and well connected, but wicked. He was so wicked that he committed so many atrocities in the society that people within his neighborhood didn't like him at all.

However when he died, people afar came and started eulogizing him, but his immediate family and neighbors never said anything good about him just because of his wickedness.

Later at his burial, the state government renamed one of the state institutions in his honor and this caught the family and the neighbor by surprise, but that is the norm in our society today.

But to me, this should not be as the bad people who were wicked in their lifestyle should not be paid with good.

Just this week, I saw one of those kinds of people's properties left in ruins and I was like to see the effect of God in paying back the bad people who are being celebrated by the public who knew within them that the said person is not as good as he was being celebrated.

This same person's name was used as one of the foremost institutions in the country.

So, to me, celebrating the bad people in our society is not the way to go, not to talk about renaming an institution in their honor.

One thing is that if we continue to celebrate them, then people would be encouraged into doing wickedness and that would not even make our society a good place as people, most especially the young who would be looking up to them as mentors or role models.

So, if there's one thing that should be stopped in our society, then that should be the celebration of the wicked ones and if in any case they have been celebrated, their celebration or what has been used to immortalize their names should be revoked so that the trend of celebrating wickedness in our society would be put to an end, hence good deeds would be celebrated instead.

Good people should be celebrated for their good deeds and bad people should be condemned to their bad deeds.

This is my entry to week 204, episode 02 of the weekly Featured contest in the Hive Learners community.

Thanks for reading.
