Phone is not a barrier to our family functions

Greetings!

One thing that has been affecting human relationships is social media and since the advent of technology and the use of phones, humans have not been able to relate together as they ought to.

I could remember how people used to be together and doing things together in the past without any form of distraction since there were gadgets of distractions back then.

However, since the advent of phones and social media platforms, people no longer pay attention to what others are saying, in fact, relationships, most especially family relationships, are no longer as cordial as they used to be.

So, for this reason, I would love to delve into the topic of the prompt which says, “phone ban.” For someone like me, I would love to ban the use of phones in my home and family most especially whenever we are all together or doing things like family functions together.

However, due to the fact that the individual family members have their right to do some certain things, I would not like to infringe on the individual right, but I think the only thing I would do is to be more diplomatic with them and advice them all to respect our being together not just for anything but for the joy that cometh with our being together.

Doing this is just because of the fact that to everything, there's always an advantage and a disadvantage which in most cases both are equal and for this reason, banning it would disenfranchise the advantages of the phone and place it over the advantages.

So, as for me, I would look into both the advantages of using a mobile phone and disadvantages and what the effect could be at the end. Doing this would be like balancing things up and would not affect any of us.

Mind you, we must know that some may be in need of the phone while the family are together, it might be for a business or official purpose, so, if the banning of phone should now be the other of the day, how would the members of the family who to benefit from the use of ban now gain and be established in their own business or career after being denied and banned from the use of phone.

So, to me, banning the use of phones at family functions is not the best option for me as a person.

However, not banning it should not be taken for granted as this could cause disunity and breach the cord of brotherliness that might have existed before in the family but I'm very sure that if one should look inwardly, one would realize that the advantages are more than the advantages.

In conclusion, I would not in any way ban the use of phones in any family functions no matter what, but one thing is that, I would make sure I caution them when being misused.
